League mode. Practice mode. Co-op mode. Release date: March 25, 2014 (Win.), August 19, 2015 (XBO), May 31, 2016 (PS4), July 7, 2016 (Mac) SMITE is the online battleground of the gods. Players choose from a diverse cast of deities and use their unique powers to triumph over the opposition in 5v5 team matches. SMITE is a new take on the MOBA genre; rather than observing from above the action, the game's third person perspective puts players into the thick of combat. Instead of clicking the mouse to move, players use the familiar WASD keys to move and fight their way through SMITE's dynamic battlegrounds. Key Features Be a God: Cut through your enemies, encase them in ice, or drown them in a vortex of souls. Assume direct control of your godlike avatar and experience the MOBA genre up close with the game camera directly behind your character. Choose from a long list of well-known and more obscure gods, each with their own history, special abilities and unique play style. Tactical Gameplay: Master and use your godlike abilities to fulfill key roles such as damage dealer, tanking, crowd control, and support. Explore the map and defeat NPC enemies for increased gold and buffs that help both you and your allies. Then deny your opponents victory with perfectly-timed stuns and calculated ambushes. Mythical Setting: Two teams of 5 players fight to slay the opposition's Titan on an inferno-themed battlefield. But first they must contend with three flaming Phoenixes plus Cyclops NPC camps and the legendary Fire Giant in the jungle. Power Up: Within a single match, your god levels from 1 to 20, causing your abilities to gain strength. You can purchase in-game items and consumables to benefit your god and complement your personal play style – whether it's buffing your Magical power, Physical power, Defense or Utility capabilities. Calculated Strikes: Every attack in SMITE is a skill shot that you control. Ranged attacks are carefully aimed, melee attacks properly positioned, and Area of Effect damage must be ground-targeted. Predict your enemies' movements and hit your mark for maximum effect in fast-paced combat. Completly Customizable HUD & Targeting: SMITE allows you to customize the way you play the game from rearranging and resizing all the elements on the screen to changing the way the camera works, targeting and spell casting options (not only you can pick between normal, quick and instant cast but you can also set it so that each individual ability uses different casting types). Free-to-Play: Everything affecting gameplay in SMITE can be earned simply by playing the game. Players have access to an initial set of playable gods for free, while additional gods are unlocked through gameplay time or more quickly through micro-transactions. Cosmetic skins can be purchased for further customization. Multiple Ways to Play: Check out the Game Modes list for info on SMITE's multiple game-modes and maps. Modes: (Click the mode's name for more info) Conquest: This is SMITE's "standard" mode. 5vs5, All pick, Two sides connected by three lanes, each lane protected by 2 towers and a Phoenix (hybrid of the tier 3 tower and Barracks/Inhibitors that respawn minutes after being destroyed). The main objective is to destroy the enemy Titan (Living Ancient/Nexus capable of defending itself). Arena: 5vs5, All pick, a big round arena, each team has 500 points, minions spawn at the sides of each base. The objective is to make the enemy team lose all their points, either by killing enemy gods or by escorting your minions though the enemy portal while preventing the enemy from doing the same. A special minion, the Siege Tower, will spawns after a team scores 10 kills, much more resistant than regular minions. If it reaches the enemy portal they'll lose 15 points. Assault: All Random, All mid: There is a single lane, no jungle, and you can't return to base to heal/buy items after you leave it, until you die. Similar to conquest, the objective is to destroy the enemy Titan. Joust: 3vs3, All pick, one lane. Somewhat imilar to Conquest and Assault, but the map is smaller and you can return to base. There is only one tower, one phoenix and a Titan. This mode also has a special neutral camp, the Bull Demon King. Defeating this mob grants you a buff and also disables the enemy's defenses for a short time. Siege: A conquest-like mode, 4vs4, with two bases connected by two lanes protected by 2 towers and a phoenix each with a Titan at the center of each base, with a small jungle with buff camps in the middle. Both teams can spawn a special Siege Juggernaut (super minion twice as fast and resistant who deals bonus damage to structures) by filling up a bar to 100. To fill this bar you must kill enemy gods (+5 points each), enemy minions (+1 point each) and clearing jungle camps (+9 points each). Kill the Wild Juggernaut in the heart of the map, and you will immediately spawn a Siege Juggernaut for your team Clash: A mix between conquest and arena, a 5v5 mode that is focused around group team fights and lane pushing mechanics. The map features two lanes with Towers, Phoenixes, and Titans, with the goal of each team to push down the opponent's defenses and defeat the enemy Titan. The wide and open middle of the map provides quick access to the major objectives, both lanes, some Mana Buff camps around the jungle, and a central Damage Buff that players will have to fight over. Eventually, the central camp will be destroyed and replaced by Apophis, the gigantic jungle boss exclusive to this mode. MotD: (Match of the Day) It's an alternative version of one of the previous modes, where there a special rule/s (For example, "10 Ra", "Only Lightning-Themed gods" "Everyone stars with 100000 Gold", "Only Mages", etc. And It can be more that one rule.). It changes regularly. Adventures: These are limited time, special five-player game modes, each one bringing a truly unique experience. From co-op survival arenas, to Capture the Flag to even go kart races. Ranked: SMITE's ranked system allows players to prove their skill in the game. To play you are required to be level 30 and must own aleast 16 gods with Mastery level I. Currently there is three Ranked Leagues: Conquest League, Joust League and Duel League (a 1v1 version of Joust). Ranked matches use a Draft pick system, each team bans two gods and then they take turns to pick. They also have much more strict rules, and punishments that range from demotions to permanent bans for the worst cases. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJe2S8NR-c4 Baron Samedi - God of Life and Death (Ranged Voodoo Mage - New Pantheon) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBiWUS3_6Kk Gods Gods are the playable characters in SMITE. They are deities, immortals and mythological creatures from ancient mythology. There are currently 96 playable gods in the game. Gods are sorted by their Pantheons: Celtic, Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, Hindu, Japanese, Mayan, Norse, Roman, Slavic and Voodoo (with Polynesian coming soon). Gods are organized in 5 different classes: Hunters (mostly ranged carries and fighters), Guardians (mostly melee supports, tanks and initiators), Mages (mostly ranged spellcasters), Warriors (mostly melee bruisers) and Assassins (mostly melee junglers and gankers). Apart from that, gods are also separated by the type of Power they utilize: Physical or Magical. Hunters, Warriors and Assassins use Physical Power, Lifesteal and Penetration while Guardians and Mages use Magical Power, Lifesteal and Penetration. Both abilities and basic attacks scale off power and deal Physical or Magical damage. Gods are restricted from acquiring items that provide stats of the opposite power type and will not benefit from any buff or aura that provides said stats. Every player starts with 10 permanent Free gods, one of each class: Ares, Artemis, Bellona, Guan Yu, Kukulkan, Neith, Nemesis, Ra, Thor and Ymir. Players also get 5 additional gods temporarily from a rotating schedule. The free rotation is changed each week. To unlock other gods, players must spend Favor. Most gods cost 5,500 favor, but there are also a few ones that cost less (Agni costing 1250 favor, Cupid costing 1500 and Hades costing 2000). The latest god released always costs twice the regular amount (11,000) for a 2+ week period or until another god is released, then it goes down to the default cost. Players can also unlock gods with Gems. All gods cost 200 gems regardless of their Favor cost or release date. Gods can be rented individually for one, three or ten days for 300, 600 or 1200 favor respectively. There are also several Level-Up Bonus rewards that allow new players to unlock certain gods (and even some cosmetic items) for free. It is worth mentioning that redeeming god skin codes for unowned gods will also unlock the character they belong to for free. Players can also purchase the Ultimate God Pack, which will unlock every single god that has been released thus far, plus any other gods that will be released in the future. The bundle also refunds any favor spent unlocking characters. A sortable list with all current playable gods and their general details, release dates, etc. can be found here: List of gods . Items Items are objects and artifacts that provide special benefits and/or abilities to a god beyond their basic capabilities. They are only sold at the store at the fountains on each base. Items cost gold, and they can be sold back for 66% of the original cost. (However, they can be sold for their full price as long as the player has not left their fountain or used the item.) Items are arranged in several categories: Consumable items, Relics, and Passive items, which are subclassified in Starter, Offensive, Defensive and Utility items. Passive items have branching tiers that allow players to upgrade them into different, stronger versions of the original item which can then be upgraded once more. A list with all current items sorted in different categories like type, tier or the stats they provide, can be found here: List of items. Consumable items: Consumables are one-time use items that are removed after they are activated. Each god can only carry two different consumables at a time, but most allow of players to carry multiple quantities of each one. Wards and Sentry Wards are an exception to this as players can only carry two wards and one sentry ward at any time. Chalices are early game consumables that allow players to invest an initially large amount of Gold for a stack of Potions or Wards that can be refilled by returning to base. However, selling these yields no Gold if the player leaves their fountain or spends any charges. Relics: Relics grant the player new abilities like becoming invulnerable for a short duration or reducing the healing received by nearby enemies. Relics must be activated for them to have an effect. Once used they will go onto cooldown before they can be used again. Relics are free, but players can only have two Relics at a time. The first Relic slot is unlocked at level 1, and the second Relic slot is unlocked at level 12. After acquiring one, it cannot be removed from the player's inventory if they have left the fountain or used the Relic. Relics can be upgraded with 500 gold, increasing their potency. The increased effect is usually noted on the upgraded version in yellow. Passive items: Passive items are the most prevalent. Each one provides a bonus to one or more stats like Health, Movement Speed, or Magical Protection. Each god can only hold up to six different passive items. Most Tier III Passive items also provide a unique Passive effect, like auras or "on basic hit" effects. There are also a few Tier II items that provide unique effects. While most Passive items can be acquired by anyone, there are a number of items that are restricted to gods with a certain type of power (Physical or Magical); these are mostly the ones that provide Power, Lifesteal or Penetration bonuses. Players can usually carry more than one Passive item from the same item tree, but they can't acquire two of the exact same item or a lower-tier item if all of its upgrades are unavailable. There are some item trees where two items within the same tree cannot be purchased, although this is uncommon. Passive items are classified in different categories: Starter, Offensive, Defensive and Utility. Starter items are items with a single tier whose bonuses and unique passive effects are most useful on the early stages of a match but gradually become less useful as time goes by. Offensive items provide boosts to stats related to attack and damage output (Physical & Magical Power, Attack Speed, Critical Strike Chance, etc.). Defensive items provide bonuses to stats related to defense and self-preservation (Physical & Magical Protection, Health and HP5). Utility items provide boosts for miscellaneous stats (Cooldown Reduction, MP5, Movement Speed, etc.) or provide supportive and team beneficial bonuses (like Aura effects). Changelog for the next patch: SMITE Upcoming update 5.12 - Cyber Shadow Not Monster Hunter Ares bundle (skin + ward + recall) plus 3 more skins for the divine uprising event: https://d1u5p3l4wpay3k.cloudfront.net/smite_gamepedia/d/dd/T_Ares_PrimalFire_Card.png Also a lot of bug fixes, and some nerfs for Baron.
Smite is a game I come back to every year but only ever last for a good week or 2. It can never keep me, I can't figure out why.
It's been like 2 weeks since the enigma chest incident and they still haven't rolled it back. Are they just going to take the L and forget about it?
Next patch is going to be the mid season update, meaning there's going to be a good chunk of important changes and reworks: https://www.smitegame.com/news/5-13-mid-season-update-notes A new item tree, Masks (items that give both a possitive and a negative effect): Mask Freya is getting a new passive and her two first skills are getting reworked, Bakasura is getting some tweaks and improvements, Ravana is getting turned into an assassin, and they are also reworked passives that granted critical chance to now grant bonus damage instead. Damn, I actually kind of dig that Thot skin. Too bad it's behind a chest.
5.13 is out. Also here is Pele's lore trailer: http://www.ign.com/videos/2018/07/25/smite-pele-the-polynesian-goddess-of-fire-lore-trailer
Is it just me or are Hel and Aphrodite players always some of the most insufferable people?

Hera's gonna be the next character that'll be added to smite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubEU6MptbcU
This guide should help https://www.smitefire.com/smite/guide/the-overarching-conquest-guide-s5-patch-5-8-12069 I'm usually not a fan of smitefire, but that guide should be what you need.
This year's odyssey is going to be called Hera's Odyssey, and it'd be a continuation of last year's story and divine uprising's. SMITE Odyssey Hera's teaser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pn3wwBnLlmE
Looks like Smite is going to be getting ported to switch https://i.imgur.com/HxUleJ5.png
More info on Hera: SMITE: Hera - A Closer Look Also here's her lore video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhIwdeUnEwo

In the off chance anyone is affected by it, support for windows XP and Vista is ending at the start of next year: https://www.smitegame.com/news/developer-update-windows-xp-vista-support
For anyone who plays smite on Steam, they're giving out a free bundle during this weekend (it unlocks 5 gods and 8 skins): https://store.steampowered.com/app/961080/SMITE__Publishers_Weekend/ https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/apps/961080/header.jpg?t=1542305208 Gods: Nu Wa Khepri Odin Cu Chulainn Medusa Skins: Righteous Hammer Thor Imperator Khepri Typhoon Kukulkan Battle Maiden Bellona Hound of Ulster Cu Chulainn Amethyst Nu Wa Raven's Throne Odin Worldweaver Neith
So much stuff revealed today. It's overwhelming.
king arthur and merlin, an african pantheon, lots of new systems, and more. And between all those announcements, the release of the new arena map went almost unnoticed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoQORsSJ9LQ
I wonder who the "powerful being to threaten all gods" will be. Shiva themed Odyssey possibly?
There's going to be one more patch after 5.23 right? Mostly wondering if I should spend my FP on the some of the skins in the FP now or wait until something else I want shows up at the last minute.
There should be at least one or two more updates, with season 6 starting in late january/early february. Supposedly allegedly it would also be the patch that adds Arthur to the game.
Kind of holding out for all skins that appeared in the FP store this year make a come back for one last hoorah for the end of the season. (as unlikely as it is ) I just really want Spectral Sword Ares.
I'll take the chance to mention this promo ends on December 16, and you don't actually need to play on Steam, you just have to log in and it'll automatically unlock all the things.
King Arthur: A Closer Look Ohhhhh man, he seems really freaking cool
5.24 patchnotes: https://www.smitegame.com/news/wielder-of-excalibur-5-24-update-notes Arthur is an interesting character i'll tell you that much. He feels very different from all other gods: https://smite.gamepedia.com/King_Arthur BTW, here's the new pantheon's banner: https://i.imgur.com/uNhMhGH.png
2019 is Year of The Pig and if the upcoming gods videos is anything to go by, we probably won't be getting Zhu Bajie this year.
Merlin: A Closer Look Sounds cool 👌
