Overwatch is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It was released in May 2016 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Overwatch puts players into two teams of six, with each player selecting one of several pre-defined hero characters with unique movement, attributes, and skills; these heroes are divided into four classes, two of which are actually useful: Offense, Defense, Tank, and Support. Players on a team work together to secure and defend control points on a map and/or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time, unless you have Genji or Hanzo on your team. Players gain cosmetic rewards that do not affect gameplay, such as characters skins and victory poses, as they continue to play in matches, most likely useless voice lines and sprays. The game was launched with casual play, and competitive matchmaking was added in June 2016. Blizzard states that all Overwatch updates will remain free, with the only additional cost to players is through]many, many microtransactions to earn additional cosmetic rewards
Any new maps since Blizzard World?
Rialto. Another map for people to forget where the Payload is.
I actually really liked Comp. FFA, it's the only time I can truthfully say I'm a Platinum player. Hope it returns at some point.
Playing ranked FFA was a cruel reminder that I will be plat forever.
On the bright side, it gave me enough points to unlock a golden gun `,:-)
I finally made it to plat. (2503)
Needless to say, that didn't last long. Apparantley there IS a difference between plat and gold, and that difference is:
Gold: Nobody knows what they're doing except for the rare instances that they do
Plat: "MOAR SNIPERS!!!"
Seriously, almost every plat game has had someone insta-lock Widow or Hanzo and they never switched. Not that they're bad heroes, it's just that, yeah, they can get picks every so often, but in the grand scheme of things they don't really do anything.
In Plat you're stuck with a McCree/Widow/Hanzo that thinks they're good, against one that kills anything that moves.
I feel like I've heard this for the past year.
Well we've had posts about Hammond for a while, and now the updates to Space colony have more lore for him.
Any thoughts on my Torbjorn Rework Suggestion?
If a turrent isnt firing hitscan rounds, then it wont counter who its supposed to counter.
didn't really read any further than that.
I don't think Torbjörn's turret needs many changes, it's Torbjörn itself. His primary fire is just horrible to use and unnecessarily weak. It is loaded with disadvantages that it's best use is to just spam in the general direction of the enemy to hit someone. His shotgun is better, but I don't understand why the ammo count has to be so low. His hammer is a joke. His ultimate somehow doesn't reload his weapon, and he is one of the characters with a longer reload time. His armor is meh at best, considering what Brigitte can output.
And with hitscan rounds the rework would be pretty overpowered. The most I can suggest is making them about as fast or faster than Hanzo's arrows so that at a long range it doesn't immediately hit but gives enough time to react and get out of its sight.
And I'm keeping in mind how disgustingly overpowered certain 150 hp heroes escape tools are of "I pressed a button, it cant hit me now"
Thsoe specific heroes should be weak to a turret.
His hammer seems like such a "tf2 has this, we need to copy tf2" thing
The upgrade-able turret, as well.
Even when upgraded the turret isn't particularly strong (I've seen un-assisted Tracers just walk up to them and tank the shots as they shoot it to death) so it's literally just to burn time.
Torb is... weird. Like I can't tell if he needs a buff, a nerf, or a complete rework. He just kinda exists
I mean yeah originally you'd also have to upgrade the turret to level 3 using Scrap. Other than his wrench he has a pistol and a shotgun. He's the shortest of the cast. Etc.
I'd love to see Torbjorn's alt fire feel a bit better though. It's very powerful, but it just feels like I'm shooting compressed air at people.
For me it just seems like even if I'm latched onto their head face-hugger style, the pellets somehow still manage to scatter around their hit-boxes.
Torbs regular attacks are fine and aren’t the problem IMO, especially his alternative fire which absolutely melts players at close range
The problem is his schtick is far too slow, setting up requires time and space which you don’t have the luxury of when the enemy team has serious momentum
He needs more versatility with his turrets/scrap and with how he can use them best to fit a situation
Wonder how it's work if you could temporarily boost a turret with scrap. Like, 75-100 scrap increases the fire-rate for 5-10 seconds or something.
What about an alternate fire for his hammer that uses scrap and upgrades faster?
He needs the option to build something else that’s maybe weaker than a turret but can work with minimal set up on the go
More utility is what will fix Torb as at the moment he’s far too niche and is suffering the same problem symmetra had on release
Let him use 100/150 scrap to be able to setup a level 2 turret immediately.
Makes juggling between armor and turret placement a lot more interesting and allows more versatility.
Make his level 1 weaker, but allow building 2 of them
When 1 gets upgraded to level 2, the other one gets destroyed
Should I be suspicious when a D.Va spins 180 degrees in a single frame to face me perfectly?
Not really
I've actually gotten really good at 180 snaps with D.Va for the sole purpose of fighting mei.
In a single frame?
I think Torb definitely needs to lose the things he got from Engineer. Switching weapons in Overwatch feels really off. His hammer should really just be his quick melee attack (and as a bonus, his screen-blocking robo claw wouldn't be used for it anymore). The scrap concept was definitely from TF2 as well and is really a holdover form when he used to use it to upgrade his turret. Having to use an inconsistent resource to supply his armor, when Brigitte can give it with a cooldown based ability, seems silly. After Reaper's lifesteal ability got reworked I was hoping they'd drop the entire idea of enemies dropping stuff on death but this has stuck around for some odd reason. And I don't see a huge difference in playstyle that would result in just building the turret at level 2 from the first place in exchange for a slightly longer build time.
