Guards at Trump prison camp for children ordered to stop them from hugging

Colleagues at a government-contracted shelter in Arizona had a specific request for Antar Davidson when three Brazilian migrant children arrived: “Tell them they can’t hug.
Davidson, 32, is of Brazilian descent and speaks Portuguese. He said the siblings — ages 16, 10 and 6 — were distraught after being separated from their parents at the border. The children were “huddled together, tears streaming down their faces,” he said.
Officials had told them their parents were “lost,” which they interpreted to mean dead. Davidson said he told the children he didn’t know where their parents were, but that they had to be strong.
“The 16-year-old, he looks at me and says, ‘How?’” Davidson said. As he watched the youth cry, he thought, “This is not healthy.”
The caseload is straining a facility he described as understaffed and
unequipped to deal with children experiencing trauma, such as the three
Brazilians. During his time at the shelter, children were running away,
screaming, throwing furniture and attempting suicide, Davidson said.
Several were being monitored this week because they were at risk of
running away, self-harm and suicide, records show.
Fucking Christ...
Fucking try and make an excuse for this. Any of you Trump fuckers. You apologists, centrists, anyone who wants to try and take the fence here.
Remember how well this worked out in the past?
This is Evil. There are no other words. It's just Evil.
Amazing how a person can have the total opposite of empathy for goddamn children because they're latinos. They're kids, they're innocent, they're not trying to take the jerbs or whatever.
its an "Us vs Them" mentality, which is quite familiar.
these kids are hostages for a fucking wall negotiation
I don't even want to look at the_donald to see that place's reaction to this.
The troglodytes at the_donald is probably overcome with sheer ecstacy over this. They're the worst dregs of society.
Any time you think "I wonder what their reaction to this is" the answer is nothing. Not a peep, anyone that mentions it is banned and their post is deleted. The moderators there are propagandists and they keep the place clean of opposing views and bad news.
I understand wanting to fight illegal immigration or even trying to control it. Hell, I'm totally for combating it, but it needs to be done in a sensible way.
This entire process goes against all due process, judicial process, and so forth. We have immigration courts and systems in place for this. The fact children are being treated like this is beyond awful. It goes against some of our fundamentals as a country, which i guess it is convent to forget.
So much for "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
This is, by definition, a concentration camp.
Either we're missing some critical fucking information or this is some shit that reparations are going to have to happen some point in the future
This is altogether too close to internment camps of WW2
Update, I went there for you, and the only thread that even remotely touches on this is an all-out assault on Democrats for being pro-abortion, with some victim blaming on the side.
Reparations can't undo this. Children are being ripped away from their parents with no explanation, thrown into cages, and prevented from comforting each other. They think their fucking parents have been murdered. The first thing they see is a mural of Trump with, "Sometimes by losing the battle you find a new way to win the war" in Spanish. These children are so terrified, so wracked with grief, and so fucking lost that they are trying to kill themselves.
This is the kind of shit that people go on trial at The Hague for crimes against humanity for. These are crimes against humanity.
I never said reparations could undo this. Nothing can. But it seems to be the government's response to previous administrations committing horrific atrocities such as this.
Are there protests being organized about this? Or anything else that can be done?
The President of the United States of America is semi-directly making children in concentration camps try to commit suicide. Let that statement permeate your very being.
Makes me honestly hope this man dies in prison.
A former president being in prison is so unprecedented they might have to clear out an entire prison just to keep him away from everyone else, since he'll never be in solitary.
He would be in a clean white collar federal prison too
Yes, without question, but it doesn't end with Trump. Trump is the result of this cancer, not the cause of it. Shattering his administration and imprisoning the monsters within it is our first critical step, but how do we proceed from there? That's a real question. How the hell do we solve the deeper problems that allowed this to happen? Racism, religious extremism, political extremism, political factionism, the rise of dedicated propaganda networks, the embrace of ignorance and stupidity, the threats posed by hostile foreign actors, the corrupt core of the GOP that is likely to escape this, and so on?
but their parents broke the law you guys! why isn't anyone taking the enlightened middle road on child abuse, like me, the enlightened centrist. smh.
I don't know what my dad thinks about this. He voted for Trump, but he's also maybe relatively moderate in comparison to guys on /pol/ and t_d (e.g. supports legalization of weed and is against gay conversion camps).
Then again, I remember him constantly bringing up George Soros, Muslims, and globalists back when I used to talk to him about politics, so I'm kinda worried he might not see anything wrong with this unless he didn't get all of the information.
Anyone who thinks this is okay should honestly just go dig a hole, lay down in it and wait for your god of choice to judge your piece of shit excuse for a soul.
internment camps didn't separate families.
I actually checked because I was curious and they're deflecting towards Clinton and Seth Rich. Which makes no sense.
i sincerely hope there are people planning to assault these camps and save these kids from this evil shit
Whoever our next president is, they need to dismantle ICE, reconnect these families, and offer amnesty and reparations to every family whose children were ripped away by an illegitimate fascist. I hope we get an Abu Ghraib style reveal of how these children are being treated - I hope we get videos of five year olds crying and begging for their parents while full-grown adults with the power to help just stand by and yell at them for hugging. I have zero doubt that if an American citizen of hispanic descent were illegally detained under suspicion of being an illegal immigrant, and their children get dragged from the car to some blacked-out Walmart detention center, the right wouldn't give a shit. I am absolutely disgusted at anyone who still has the fucking balls to call themselves a Republican.
I never thought I'd live to see a moment where children in America are forcibly separated from their families and denied their right to due process under the law. This is a moral outrage and a flagrant violation of the "law and order" that Trump touted. Family values? Rule of law? None of it matters - this is a policy that spits on families and flies directly against the letter of the law.
Get this pathetic excuse for a human being out of office and jail every single ICE officer who participated in these unconstitutional detentions. Jail Trump for his actions in the campaign, then drop him off at the Hague for authorizing flagrant human rights abuses. Fuck this administration and fuck anyone who continues to support the Republican party for their ignorance and passivity.
Words cannot express how disgusting this is.
The people who support Trump aren't going to hear of it though, and if they do it's most likely a split between "serves them right" and "fake news".
