Path of Exile was originally released in 2013, and has since then had 7 expansions adding new content to the game. Path of Exile is an entirely free-to-play game with an alternative micro-transaction shop where you can buy costumes, skill effects and more stash space. Path of Exile is available for download through Steam, standalone download on their website. And since 2017 it has been made available on the Xbox One. http://i.imgur.com/Xuinmhi.png No announcement yet. http://i.imgur.com/BMoWl7x.png Path of Exile features classic ARPG style combat. There are seven classes in the game, each with three specializations called Ascendancies. Path of Exile is widely known for it's massive and daunting passive tree, innovative skill gem and flask system and it's end-game mapping system. There's a lot to the game, much more than I could possibly cover here. More information regarding different game mechanics is available on the official Path of Exile website and the community driven Wiki over on Gamepedia. Here's a good beginner guide video series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEZtq6FSebE&list=PL7GqFLebBU8inlrcqTZFXtIwP362XrdNe&index=1 http://i.imgur.com/VVO8Y2e.png https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFAPw_F3jyg https://assets.rpgsite.net/images/images/000/051/687/original/PathOfExile10.jpg https://assets.rpgsite.net/images/images/000/051/687/original/PathOfExile10.jpg https://media-mercury.cursecdn.com/attachments/6/315/path-of-exile-fall-of-oriath16.jpg Previous Threads: - Path of Exile V3 (By Jon) - Path of Exile V2 (By Malvodion) - Path of Exile (By Rents)
So I came back after the latest update came out and I'm not sure I entirely understand the temple thing, I'm finding the woman and running the rooms it generates but I'm barely able to kill anything before the time runs out. Does it actually matter or does that just determine how loot it spits out after?
Killing the architect is the only thing that matters for temple progression. You should try to clear an incursion fully at least once for the challenge, after that it's just for loot so it's up to you whether you fully clear it or leave. Personally I much prefer to full clear as they tend to have excellent density, so it's a nice chunk of xp. Entirely up to you.
Seeing as I've just started a new character its probably best to ignore them until I've got better gear/gems?
i personally just tried my best to hit the architect and open a door while levelling, temples are a fun break from levelling if you don't want to be overlevelled you can just ignore them until later yeah
Loving this league tbh, wasn't such a fan of the beastcrafting but this definitely seems more interesting and some of the fully upgraded rooms/possibilities are cool (eg new unique corruption effects from corrupting items in the temple) Got pretty lucky (For me at least) and dropped a 90C worth div card in my first few maps which kickstarted my build, and just now dropped my first exalt. I found early on I couldn't do crap in the incursions, then I could maybe kill an architect and open a single door if lucky when I got sunder. When I got to 70 and got my build sorted a bit more though now I easily clear the entire incursion with 20-30s to spare and get a nice rain of loot at the end. The main thing with the incursions as above is looking at the generated temple map and make sure to open doors to connect everything up/ killing the correct architect to upgrade or change the room to your liking. You can see how many incursions are left at the bottom of the screen as well until its temple time. Only thing is the temple/incursion mobs don't seem to give much XP compared to regular mobs and the temple can take a while to do, but at the same time depending on the room upgrades you get you can get some decent stuff. It's probably not worth it early on if you are already levelling at a comfortable pace unless you want a break from the levelling and dont mind it.
wait until you hit 13 or so and get your first actual clear gem, like fire trap or sunder if you have even okay gear you'll be able to clear most of it before time expires, just have a bit of a game plan (which architect to kill, which doors to open) before you enter
https://i.imgur.com/raZcxtU.png Ayyy double corrupted a gem and it didn't get worse for once. Time to make a 47 billion DPS ele hit build.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAcv_t3pgt8 Damn, GGG actually cashed in on a meta skill for once
GGG can't win, can they? They release MTX for non-meta skills and people complain that they didn't release MTX when the skill was strong/popular/new. And now that they've finally released a skill effect for a meta skill people complain that it's a cash grab.
there's my RNG for the league, cya in September https://imgur.com/a/GOCbFN7
I just beat uber elder!!! https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/928186827259514034/E26DB2B5FAC5E8360D0F5330878E130ABF20448E/

Remote mines which place traps with a cooldown now consume as many cooldowns as mines are placed (ie. Seismic Trap supported by Remote Mine Support and Minefield Support will consume 3 Seismic Trap charges and place 3 mines). Waiting long enough for the cooldown to reset will allow mines supported by Multiple Traps Support or Cluster Traps Support to place additional traps. Added Siphoning Trap as a vendor quest reward for the 'A Fixture of Fate' quest. Added new voiced dialogue for Alva Valai when exploring the jungles outside the Temple of Atzoatl. Elemental Hit's Area of Effect component now correctly applies to the additional targets hit as a result of the Ancestral Call support. Mirage Archer can no longer gain the Innervation buff. Adjusted the visual effects of Shocked Ground to be less erratic. Improved the performance of the Frostflower Ice Trap Cosmetic Effect. Doors in the Temple of Atzoatl no longer display "Place explosives" after being blown up if you have additional Flashpowder Kegs. Paquate, Architect of Corruption's Blood Beam is now removed when that architect dies. Fixed a bug where the wrong character would be higlighted when exiting to character selection. Fixed a bug where the Jungle Valley map could generate with unconnected sections. Fixed a bug where white Burning Ground was invisible. Fixed a bug introduced in patch 3.3.0 where players in a party in the Whakawairua Tuahu unique map were not placed at different locations after using some in-map portals. Fixed a bug where Arcane Surge would not work when supporting a castable spell which was linked to a Cast when Damage Taken Support gem. Fixed a bug where Vaal Detonate Dead displayed Attack stats rather than Spell stats in the Offence Tab of the Character panel. Fixed a bug where Vaal skills placed as mines would display an incorrect amount of uses remaining. Fixed a bug where Architects could be killed after an Incursion ended, causing an incorrect room to be changed or upgraded. Fixed a bug where the Blood Beam Architect skill was not visible when re-entering an area after the skill has been used. Fixed a bug where Apparitions from the Soul Conduit Nemesis mod gave progress towards the Incursion progress bar, causing it to extend too far. Fixed a bug where players could sometimes get more than 10 stacks of Grasping Vines, causing them to be unable to move. Fixed a bug where The Plaguemaw III prophecy could trigger while in an Incursion. Fixed a bug where The Unbreathing Queen V prophecy replaced monsters in an Incursion. Fixed a bug where Radiant Scorching Ray had a Celestial surge effect. Reduced the amount of flickering while channelling Radiant Scorching Ray. Fixed a bug where Lightning Warp with cosmetic effects applied to it did not play the correct audio. Fixed a minor graphical issue in the Crucible of Flame room in the Temple of Atzoatl. Fixed a buffer underflow client crash. Fixed a client crash with Vaal Earthquake. Fixed a client crash with Arc. Fixed a client crash that could occur when travelling over unwalkable terrain while affected by Grasping Vines. Fixed a client crash that could occur when changing areas. Fixed an instance crash. Forum People with epilepsy going to enjoy that shocked ground change.
Oh hey, they added layout options to the official trade site: https://i.imgur.com/C8pvF3C.png https://i.imgur.com/chD0F9j.png The default layout was pretty much my only problem with the site... now I really don't see a reason to use poe.trade over it. Especially with how many problems poe.trade has been having this league.
Just started playing this and I made a Witch that I want to turn into a Necromancer. Any noob tips? I've watched a few of the beginners guide videos so I know some of the words people are saying in this thread now
Here's some tips: Follow a build guide. If you go in blind you're going to reach a point where you get stuck and can no longer progress because of inefficient build choices. Play around with some skills and then look for a popular, up-to-date beginner friendly build that utilizes that skill. Don't be afraid to ask for help. People in the game are (generally) very helpful and we also have a Facepunch guild that's active with a bunch of experienced vetens who are just waiting for the chance to turn people on to the game. While Path of Exile is free-to-play, you're eventually going to want to obtain some additional stash space. When or if you decide you want to drop some money on the game, ignore cosmetics in the shop to begin with as they're rather pricey. It's difficult to play the game with only the default set of stash tabs, though there are some top tier players such as Aila who manages to make it work with only the default 4, though he only plays HCSSF. Get a loot filter. www.filterblade.xyz is a good place to go. A loot filter is going to improve you're QoL as it filters out useless items and highlights good ones and gets rid of a lot of the clutter. There are side quests that will award you passive points that can be quite easy to miss. I'd recommend checking out a list of these quests so you don't miss any(and if you do, you can just come back later and do them). Hoard currency items. It's not really worth crafting items with currency if you're new and in-experienced. A large majority of the time you'll be better off purchasing and item off other players. There are two places to go for trading, www.poe.trade or www.pathofexile.com/trade STAY OUT OF TRADE CHAT!!! Trade chat is a thing of the past and is now filled with parasites that try to sell cheap leveling items for way, way above their market value and trick newer players in to buying them. Never use it. However, once you get in to the game /tradechat 820 is a place where people will sell things that aren't item related, such as challenges, masters etc.
what kind of necromancer do you want to make? there are ones based around sksletons, zombies, spectres, all of the above...not to mention plenty of builds there. you can use something like https://www.poebuilds.cc/necromancer/ or the poe official forums to get you at least started on a build. You don't need to follow it to the letter or anything, but its good to at least follow it slightly, especially since a lot of new players just go for pure damage or things that don't work out, and end up getting stuck, especially later in part 2 where shit hits like a truck.
I started making a summoner style character at first but then I found the Minion Instability key stone thing so I'm basically gonna aim for that and blow up zombies all day It's pretty cool having like 20 summons of different types all going at once but its also chaos and I only have a vague idea of whats happening
Minion instability is fun but weak in the sense that if the minions get oneshot (from 100% to 0%, 50% to 0%, from just above the treshold into instant death) don't blow up, so it doesn't work as well against high dmg crit enemies and bosses.
There is that new unique that turns your skeletons into fire bombs.
yeah I remember reading that there's something that makes skeletingtons take 30-something% of max hp as fire damage every second but also is a fire nova or whatever, meaning they will guarantee to explode within like 4-5 seconds (plus covering enemies in Ash or something?)
Yeah, it's called Earendel's Embrace. If you pair that with Maligaro's Lens + Necromantic Aegis your Skeletons will rapidly degen and trigger Minion Instability very fast. Not sure how well they scale in to red tier maps though.
Earendel's Embrace + Maligaro's Lens combo does seem pretty fun, I think that's gonna be my build for this league.
The last time I played this game was harbinger league, and I cannot believe how much exalts have inflated. 180c per? Seriously? And then the price drops to only 130c and now reddit is filled with cries of price fixing.
Well recently a whole lot of bots got banned so that could explain it
Isn't farming Three Faces in the Dark from Marketplace in Act 3 one of the most popular botting areas? I can't imagine how many Chaos came in to the game just from that.
https://i.imgur.com/KW3JFiX.jpg I didn't know until now the warbands have their own signature mods too. What does one keep in mind before multicrafting this? Leaving aside if it worths or not, I have no idea how much currency I should be prepared to burn.
Not worth investing much in. The mod is mediocre and the base is bad. Augment it and regal if the augment is good and then sell. Most players run freeze immune flasks so sacrificing a prefix for freeze immunity is undesirable.
New Incursion Rooms in 3.3.1 7 spirits in the tier 3 Torment room
20 uber elder kills.. done! 19 of them were solo too. I was quite lucky with the elder influence spawning next to guardians every time it formed https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1760/4842ac39-973f-4e85-8b73-c6c1c5b33a54/20180705205933_1.jpg
