And as for anything else - that's fate. Roadside Picnic, Arkady and Boris Strugatsky Welcome to the Zone. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is made up of a total of three games thus far: Shadow of Chernobyl , Clear Sky , and Call of Pripyat . Two popular unofficial branches of the series are Lost Alpha, which seeks to restore the old alpha content, and Call of Chernobyl, a massive modification that links SoC, CS and CoP's maps into a massive free-roaming and story-less modders' resource, have also been released. Each game has its own set of unique experiences, stories, and features that give a new twist upon the life of a Stalker. The game series is based off of the Chernobyl nuclear catastrophe, with it's own fictional additions. The Zone is an irradiated man-made Hell that was formed after a second explosion at the nuclear powerplant. It is filled with mysterious phenomena known as anomalies, and it is also home to grotesque mutated wildlife. There are many dangers that may await you at every corner, but there are also many treasures to be found as well. Keep your eyes open, your bolts at hand, and with a level head you may just survive. Q: What order should I play these games in? A: I'd recommend playing them in the order they were released, Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat. Doing it any other way may ruin certain game experiences or spoil the story! Q: i hear these games have some bizarre difficulty system, how does it work? A: check out this handy chart Q: I just bought these games is there anything I should install right off the bat? A: For Shadow of Chernobyl you could install the Facepunch Starter Pack if you feel like you need to, and for Clear Sky install The Sky Reclamation Project . These are community bug fixes that will make your experience with the games more pleasant. Call of Pripyat on the other hand is the most stable build of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. so far and only requires to be on the latest patch. Other than this don't install anything else, playing mods on your first playthrough is not encouraged. PLEASE don't use STALKER Complete. Use ZRP if you really want to have a bug-free experience. Q: How do I install these mods? A: First get to the directory for the game you want to install the stuff in - Steam: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common" - In the common folder the games will be in their own folders. Shadow of Chernobyl: "C:\Program Files\THQ\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" Clear Sky: "C:\Program Files\Deep Silver\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky" Call of Pripyat: "C:\Program Files\bitComposer Games\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Call of Pripyat" If you're running a 64-bit OS then go to the (x86) portion of your program files. Depending on what you're installing it's most likely going be a folder named "gamedata", just toss that into the main directory. Also go into the "fsgame.ltx" file and open it in notepad, then go the the line game_data and make it look like this: $game_data$ = true|true|$fs_root$|gamedata\ Q: How do I reduce/get rid of this annoying headbob?! A: Open the console with tilde - type 'cam_inert x' where: x = 0.00 to 1.00 0.00 = no headbob at all Tilde is the ~ key if you didn't know. Q: How do I change FOV in this game? I'm about to puke! A: Use this tool by our very own TKGP. Works with all of the games, but mod compatability may vary, check the readme for more info.
Thanks for the new bread. TBH I was too lazy to make it yesterday :c Also what should be in there: VANILLA FIRST gif. https://media.moddb.com/images/members/1/366/365208/profile/21330020.gif
thread music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRRGYEFZF4A
and so it is in the Zone, one thread dies, another is born
I wish for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
https://zippy.gfycat.com/DemandingHardLamb.webm wish granted
https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107197/7af0470f-46f4-4a6e-9ce8-d3962029a944/victimofvanillaman.gif I remember I didn't make the original image, but made that gifified version and seeing it again I realised it was really annoying to look at. So for the sake of subtlety, here's a modification that makes the face zoom much more brief and only plays once. (Or alternatively you could just use the original.)
Fresh thread smell. Anyone remember that one mod for SoC I think, it had bloodsucker and snork heads on bandit bodies. What mod was that?
SGM have this but its for CoP SIGEROUS (SGM) mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. https://media.moddb.com/cache/images/mods/1/27/26284/thumb_620x2000/xrEngine_2014-12-10_22-10-13-86.jpg
I can't remember, is there a fix for campfires giving off white reflective light on surfaces nearby (ground and walls and objects)? https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/916927827565015193/D7E8043EE5DA2DFFF43491A62BE007DFE67AD80F/ This is the Anomaly repack mod, but it happens in vanilla Clear Sky from what I remember too
It would look pretty cool if it were the correct colour.
This is caused by the combination of wet surfaces and high gloss factor. If Anomaly uses Misery default (10) you have to change it. Try between 3 and 5.
iirc the colored specular fix is a simple one, ain't it? I can't remember, but Lyakothrope (sorry if i ruined your name) mentioned it before when I was showing off the feature in RADIUM.
you ruined my name, I'm so offended /s Yeah uh it's a modified lmodel or sload shader from a clear sky mod made by either Sky4CE or the float32 guy, I'll see if I can dig it up when I get home
weird, I didnt notice it before: SeargeDP / coc Its probably old but I never even checked if someone mess with CoC in this way...
https://i.imgur.com/blPTp98.png Seems pretty recent to me
It's actually part of the Anomaly Mod pack too, the guy who makes that pack also makes that engine. Also I've played some of it and it is really cool, lots of neat details. I never played Last Day or Call of Misery (I only played a little Call of Chernobyl infact), but this is some cool shit.
it is for 1.4.22 Right? I dont have coc anymore on my computer and I was thinking about checking it...
Update: I found a few different lmodel.h's but I'm not sure if any of them are the one. I also found a few copies of float32. I wonder if I still have the betas nivenhbro gave me personally lying around anywhere.
I also found this: GitHub
Anomaly mod repack is standalone if that is what you are referring to.
I was referring to engine repo it self not mod. Well, out of curiosity I just check both of them later when I download both stable and beta CoC(I dont even remember why the hell I even remove it :/ )
Stalker 2
This made me wanna try and forward-port Float32's cook-torrance lmodel to CoP. I might try that, seeing as how that part of the shaders have barely changed since then. I also found another one of these that seems to change the blinn-phong exponent based on the material in use which is neat.
So i believe that bug where an emission doesn't happen properly and you reload your saves only to be already dead is well known- But is there something specific that causes it? Something one can do to prevent it? And is it inevitable even if you revert back far enough, or can it be averted by say- moving to a different map?
You can enable god mode in the main menu immediately after launching the game, and then load the game, move yourself to somewhere safe, then disable god mode.
Only in CoC I think, and only if you run the game with -debug (I think? maybe it's -dbg) in the cmd line parameters
Good points, i could definitely have put that post better But alas, i was smashed!
-dbg is definitely required, and to access console you press "~". The exact command is "g_god on" or "g_god off", turning god mode on or off respectively.
This may be a tiresome question but is there any word on CoC 1.5?
