To reiterate the belabored, fuck Reach MP and Halo3 SP while you're at it.
He made some solid points that needed to be addressed in today's gaming environment. Problem is that big companies just follow trends and go further down the road of brand recognition, not grasping the need for different gamers. That is why i find Indie games to be the pumping fresh life into the market nowadays. They tend to be smaller, more focused projects, that draw a certain kind of audience related to that game. Let's take for example the new Battlefield V, with all the changes it is bringing. We can see the trend he discussed in the video; the fear of splitting up into smaller games. EA would not want to release a main Battlefield and a spin-off Battle Royale title, as it would not look good to shareholders. In the end games are successful or are broken by the community, and good game is one that gives each player a reason to come play it, may it be a good gameplay loop or an awesome story. Games following trends and removing old stuff will never do the market any good.
