That's the main reason why I (and I guess many others) switched to pure-scenebuilding. The lighting on so many prebuild maps is just not made for creating good pictures... aside from the fact that they're not compatible with soft-lights
If it was easy to remove lighting from pre-existing maps to make them 100% unlit and then add props to them i'd 100% love that bceause i prefer adding detail to an already existing enviroment
more like the lighting on all maps ever. Source's map lighting fucking sucks.
Try using the blackify addon by Vioxtar. It allows you to unlit all light sources from a map and lets you add your own by adding lights and lamps. @Piggo @T3ss3R
Can we get a source on the addon? Never seen in it on the Workshop and that does sound crazy useful to have
We once had a dream of giving softlamps the ability to subtract textures from one another and thus output JUST the softlamp additions https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/710/1d958a5c-e0f0-4ae2-8857-86d6e17062a3/image.png while perfectly doable in any simple image editing software, it turned out impossible simply because no shader supported subtraction blending even sent an email to garry about it but no replies
On paper, theres plenty of holes and usually isn't worth it hence why viox called it a POS
this WILL work on gm_construct, gm_flatgrass though, here's a shitty test on gm_construct: picload.org | poster
