For Honor is an online action fighting game by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It was announced at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The game features a melee combat system described as "The Art of Battle" by the developers and allows players to play the roles of historical soldiers such as medieval knights, samurai, and vikings within a Medieval fantasy setting.

Just picked up the game, was free on uplay. Heard it was the stinkers edition, but hey, it was free. My name is linkuya on uplay if anyone wants to help a nub out, I check this site like once every four months so it'd be best to add me there

I got this game on launch but barely played it, only just got back into it now with a bunch of friends and I guess I bought it when I had too much money to spare since I have the season pass so I get to enjoy all the dlc guys. Shinobi is pretty fun but Raider is my most solid go to

I am so much more grateful for a ranked duel mode than I ever expected to be. Was always turned off by tournament format, especially the time commitment.

As someone who's casual as all hell with this game i'm loving the warden changes. They dont seem like much but the new moves and chain starters are quite helpful.
God I'm killing it with Warden now. I was pretty okay before the update now combos just flow naturally to me and I feel like I can take on anyone.
The zone being able to combo into heavies helps.

I was wondering, does the starter edition allow custom matches if I want to just duel with a friend? If so, is it with all the characters?
Custom matches should be fine but not sure on the access of characters.
The For Honor Starter Edition provides access to the full game,
story mode and all PVP modes, with a different system for unlocking
heroes. In this FAQ we'll highlight the differences between the Starter Edition and the Standard Edition of For Honor.
The main difference is in hero availability and unlocking. In the Starter Edition:
3 Vanguard heroes are fully unlocked from the beginning - they are playable and customisable.
9 other heroes are not recruited:
- the 3 heroes of your chosen faction will be playable but not customisable
- the 6 remaining heroes can only be played in practice mode
All other heroes are locked - they can be played only in practice mode.
You can recruit all standard heroes that are not fully unlocked from
the beginning for 8000 Steel each. Alternatively, you can unlock all
standard heroes at once with the All Heroes Bundle which can be purchased for 50,000 Steel on the in-game store.
If you choose to purchase the All Heroes Bundle after you unlocked some Heroes already, the price of the bundle will lower respectively.
Any heroes that were added to the game (DLC Heroes) after its release can be recruited for the same price in all editions of For Honor, including the Starter Edition: 15,000 Steel.
Is practice mode just another name for unranked or is it against AI only?
It's basically the training map like other fighting games were you practice moves/counters/etc.
I got this game during the free week and I really enjoy it. ATM I'm liking the orochi because at my skill level everyone still relies on power strikes so I'm able to sneak a couple of fast attacks.
Try to learn how to deflect attacks with Orochi, it's insanely fun.
You dodge in the direction of an incoming attack at the right moment, and then counterattack with light or heavy. It looks so fucking cool.
I would recommend trying it in some duels versus AI at first to get the hang of it.
Ubisoft wanted to introduce a banter system so the fighters address each other and say things, some people are in the Marching Fire open test offline already. I'll just leave the clips here.
