Westworld isn't your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park -- which is looked after by robotic "hosts" -- allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park's guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. "Westworld" -- which is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name -- features an all-star cast that includes Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Golden Globe winner Ed Harris.
MAIN CAST
Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Robert Ford, the brilliant creative director of Westworld.
James Marsden as Teddy Flood, a newly-arrived gunslinger in pursuit of a local beauty.
Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores Abernathy, a Western girl who discovers her entire life is an elaborately constructed lie.
Jeffrey Wright as Bernard Lowe, head of the Westworld Programming Division and creator of artificial people.
Thandie Newton as Maeve Millay, the beautiful and sharp madame of Westworld.
Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton, a wanted man bent on survival.
Ed Harris as the Man in Black, a mysterious villain.
Jimmi Simpson as William, a young, newly appointed VP and guest in the Park.
Shannon Woodward as Elsie King, a rising star in the Programming Division tasked with odd behavior in the park's artificial beings.
Ingrid Bolsø Berdal as Armistice, a brutal and ruthless bandit.
Angela Sarafya as Clementine Pennyfeather, an artifical being and one of Westworld's most popular attractions.
Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore, Westworld's narrative director, whose artistic temperament aggravates his co-workers.

Episode 9 was fuckin good omg FUCKING WILLIAM GOD DAMMIT
From: Emily
To: Dad
Happy Father's Day!
Kinda funny how they put this episode in for Emmy consideration. When both episode 4 and 8 were just as worthy as getting an Emmy.
i'm super glad they didn't kill off William just cuz he's a fuckass now, his story is only getting more and more interesting
This whole episode was a trick by Ford, don't be fooled.
The last episode was really brutal and good.
Generally a solid second season, except for 2 or 3 shitty action oriented episode in the middle of this season.
Poor Teddy he used his new found free will the only way he could
I have a feeling there is a reason we are shown William's scan result but he shoots the security guys before we see the results of Emily's scan.
Super huge spoiler from S2E9, don't click
Seriously
It's a question but a big one...
When William cut his arm, assuming he was checking for that USB port thingy, did we ever actually get a solid confirmation on if it was/wasn't there? I was under the impression that the answer for that was still unconfirmed until likely E10.
didn't seem like they showed us whether or not it was, but he was confirmed human was he not? unless he is a result of what they have been testing with collecting mass amounts of guest data
I was assuming he was for sure human after the neck zapper scanner thing. But the card thing with his wife playing fake sleep hinted to me that he was one of the original subjects on the data capture they were doing on guests. (It said he was subject #2)
as far as I could tell that card thing was his 'profile' which is all the data collected on him in westworld that basically shows him to be a total fuckin psychopath, which doesn't necessarily mean he's a clone. I think william is 100% human he's just fucking lost it. it'd actually be a bit of a shit twist if he wasn't human after all this tbh
i reckon william is gonna crack consciousness in robots and just build himself a new daughter and pretend he didn't kill the real one and keep living in denial. or he just makes a host daughter and gives it false memories and free will.
Considering a screen grab from the final episode's trailer shows William in The Cradle, I wonder if any part of his daughter was scanned.
Since the scanner is in the hat it wouldn't be a stretch to see William just staying in the Human Cradle with his duplicated and otherwise remade family.
I've finally caught up with the ninth episode, which was also surprisingly good, mainly because it was dense with important developments (instead of your average episode from the second season where there is always an apparent main storyline to follow and everything else feels like padding).
Both Katja Herbers and Ed Harris totally stole the show, but they are basically my favorite actors of the bunch, so take that as you will. While I appreciated William's whole sanity slippage into full-blown hysteria (which was built-up since the very beginning of this season, apparently), at the moment I can't process the possible twist about the current William being a host. No matter how hard I try to read into past events, both from this season and the previous one: it'd make zero fucking sense anyway. But we'll see, maybe I'm missing something.
I'm also sad in saying this, but I think the writers completely ruined the character of Dr. Ford for me. In the first season his prominent presence was justified on a very strong narrative standpoint and the extent of everything he did was in the realm of plausibility. Comes the second season and Ford has been making deus and diabolus ex machina appearences all over the fucking place, displaying a level of foresight and control over the lives of pretty much the whole cast which completely shatters any sort of suspension of disbelief.
I mean, in the span of a single episode we discovered that:
Ford was instrumental, albeit unwillingly, in William's wife suicide, and every repercussion that event had (as to say, a lot).
Apparently Maeve (and not Dolores or anyone else, for that matter) is Ford's all-time favorite host, whom Ford personally handpicked to achieve freedom.
Alright.
As a side note, FUCKING YEAH TEDDY!
I think Ford picked Maeve and Bernard was for Dolores.
i do think Ford's control over the plot has started to go too far, but i didn't really mind the bit with him and William. it's makes his irrational paranoia of Ford a little more understandable, i feel

I don't think so, Emily is really dead. It's just a way the writers of the show wanted to emphasize on Williams paranoia.
Linked for spoilers
Went through a bunch of Maeve videos on Youtube. All of them have an extremely large amount of dislikes.
Willing to guess this is either some weird 4chan prank or some russian troll thing to fuel racism or some shit.
I know a lot of people have complained about Ford's unrealistic degree of foresight. This bothered me for a while too, but I now think it easily makes sense here. They talked about how a long time ago they achieved the ability to simulate consciousness, but my understanding is that the degradation only really happens when they are in the real world. Couldn't Ford have simply used the Cradle to simulate as many scenarios as possible, ensuring that no matter the deviation he could account for it in his plan? He constantly referred to the events following Season 1 as his new narrative, so it would make sense for him to use all the tools at his disposal to ensure it plays out according to plan.
ok can anyone explain that end please
Well it would seem that Bernard and Delores is likely going to clash, again.
But for now, they're in the real world.
( Oh and MiB / William is now a host )
Here's a good article covering that post credits scene and the finale.
Westworld
So MiB did kill his daughter for real and he lives, but in the end re-creates himself to try to find a point that doesn't end in tragedy.
A repeatable hell of mistakes, that will never end.
oh good, maeve died
Perhaps not, Felix and Sylvester were eyeing up Maeve for some rebuilding at the evacuation beach.
