Because if nobody films you committing human rights abuses, it didn't happen
Definitely nothing to hide here guys
I think this speaks for itself really.
The actions of a state whose troops are being used to do nothing wrong
does it really matter either way? who is going to do something about it? you have human rights abuse across the globe and it just feels like nothing can be done.
Because since "nobody's doing something about it" we should ignore it entirely right? Observing the process changes it. I don't think the IDF would remain as concerned with minimising civilian/non-combatant casualties as they ostensibly are if the rest of the world just up and buried their heads in the sand.
i don't mean we shouldn't do something about it, i'm just frustrated about it.
Israeli plan to jail anyone filming soldiers in the West Bank hi.. The proposed Israeli law that would ban the filming of soldiers carrying out their duties is problematic from a constitutional standpoint which may prevent its enactment, says Israeli Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit. A senior member of the coalition told Haaretz that an agreement had been reached with Ilatov whereby the proposed law will call for a ban on interfering with Israel Defense Forces soldiers in the line of duty, but there will not be a total prohibition on filming and documenting such activities.  I guess we'll see. Even if they pass the bill it will still have to survive the inevitable appeals to the Supreme Court.
Then these people filming soldiers should find a way to get reliable cell service out there and start streaming them. They're not recording the soldiers, someone else is
