I lived in Japan for a few years, got to experience a major earthquake. It was pretty terrifying to be honest. When I read articles like this one I really feel for everyone. I hope everyone recovers and there is no more deaths.
Walls shouldn't be falling at a 6.1
A wall fell. It didn't say walls.
Not that your completely pointless pedantry would be valid if only a single wall fell, but the article clearly indicates that 2 people were killed by separate falling walls A nine-year old girl killed by a falling wall at her school was one of three confirmed fatalities. An elderly man was also killed by a collapsing wall while another was trapped below a bookcase at home, national broadcaster NHK reported.
And does it say that this is a completely normal thing?
I saw a picture from a guy's kitchen when he got on IRC after the quake. Absolutely fucking destroyed, imagine everything from your cabinets flying out and breaking. Then you multiply that by how many people like in Osaka (a shitload), and you start to appreciate not only the human cost of the quake, but also the economic damage.
Why don't they just move Japan? God it's not that hard to move.
