It kind of annoys me how people don't understand how vitamins can seriously be dangerous if you take too many
like OK YEAH, you have to take a lot for a very long time, and the effects most of the time go away, but they can cause actual issues
An entire bottle of pills a day keeps the funeral at bay!
You're that dead, you can't even have one, you're super dead.
its less about overconsumption of vitamins and more of a family buying candies without realising they were vitamins - it mentions that they were not fluent in english.
I've seen several cases of people illegally selling stuff stolen from hospital supplies in flea markets without any clue to what these stuff as whatever they want to believe they are. my mother once alost bought weight suplements because a woman was selling it as "weight reduction coffee"
Man these american gummy bites sure are expensive for some reason...
You don't need to be fluent in English to understand what you're buying though, just a basic understanding of the English language, even if it's American English, will suffice to know what you should and shouldn't get.
"gummy vitamin and minerals" in google translate in many random languages
vitimín gummy agus mianraí
vitamine gommeuse et minéraux
gummiartiges Vitamin und Mineralien
gummy vitamine en mineralen
gummy vitamin och mineraler
vitaminas gomosas y minerales
it'd be pretty hard to mistake, though I can see how the "Gummy" part would cause a lot of confusion.
Even if they weren't vitamins that's a lot of gummies to let your kid eat every day.
oh my god this is so true, there's someone I know who refuses to listen to any advice I give them and just think that vitamins are going to make them healthier
Who the fuck lets their kid eat gummy candy for breakfast?
I thought this was gonna be those joke onion news videos.
Boy was that horrible
Morale of the story, too much of anything is bad for you.
Over here in Germany we sell these things and knockoffs with different names such as "Vitagums"

"Fruchtgummi with Vitamins" translates into "Fruit Jelly with Vitamins" even tough, they are only candy.
For a non native german speaker, you'd assume that "Gummy Vitamins" are more or less the same as "Fruchtgummi mit Vitaminen"
Same goes for other candy brands over here, most candies advertise that they have vitamins and I bet it's super easy to be confused by this.

I wish this guy didn't come off as totally obnoxious, because I'm definitely in the segment for this kind of stuff.
How does he come off as obnoxious?
I don't know, I think it's just the style of the video, and the way he puts stress on words. Maybe it's the "tension" he's trying to build in the video, but I don't know - sometimes things are just sorta obnoxious, and you can't really pinpoint why. After watching this one through, I must admit that this was better than some of his previous.
TBH some people might get the impression based on other vitamins. There's a couple that you'll mostly just harmlessly piss out if you take too many like b12.
"Hitler only eats Haribo!"
"How will you be able to experience the Krisstallnacht without your precious candy?"
Hospitals suck
I mean sounds fine to me tbh, it's not exactly a funny situation and sounds more intended to be like informative/educational so I think he nails it with his performance.
Put it this way, I'd find a significantly different form of presentation more jarring than what he does for this format.
The only vitamin I take is vitamin D, because I don't get a lot of sun working a 40 hr/week office job. I wish people would understand that we get most of our necessary vitamins through a regular diet and we don't need to waste money and potentially damage their health.
Our country is abysmal, that's why.
Also goddamn, this video is setting off the hypochondriac in me, I hate thinking about shit like this.
I like these videos but every time I watch them I feel less healthy for whatever reason.
Like "Oh, I take vitamins - I hope I don't die"
chances are they did not get them at a store. as I mentioned before chances are they were not aware what they were exactly buying.
As long as you use diet coke to wash your teeth, its fine
Doctor Pepper you mean, fuck me.
So are vitamins and other medicines just sold next to food in your supermarkets? I've never seen medical stuff in a supermarket before honestly. It's usually very separate.
Every store I've been to had them in a separate aisle among other medications.
vitamins and other shit are sold in a pharmacy section, they arent just put next to the candy and cereal.
