to the surprise of no one: aggressive upselling, shitty customer service, no service on resells, what is a PC is that like on of those giant phones you have on your desk if your a space nerd for the government
I know you've been valued between $2 and $5 billion, but the best I can do you for is around $9.42.
My gamestop actually owns so this is a pretty huge bummer. If I have money down on anything should I just let it rock or consider going and pulling stuff out?
Who will be able to supply me with Battletoads now?
The last time I was in a Gamestop less than half the store had videogames. The rest was cheap plastic crap, almost certainly knock-off videogame branded t-shirts, and more Funko-Pops than I could believe. There's nothing of value there any more.
Other than people possibly losing their jobs, I'm perfectly okay hearing what may be the death throes of GameStop.
But will we still get good commercials out of them? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80kDRoso_X8
gamestop is a funko pop husk
Gamestop has like 1000 Funko Pops and shitty T-shirts but there's always like, one half decent thing and they literally only ever have one of it tucked away in a corner and then I never see it again.
Tbh that's probably them trying what they can to survive. Just selling video games won't really do shit given how much better buying it digitally, or even off of amazon, is for most people. Altho doesn't help that the merch they sell is trash.
GameStop is probably one of the last chains of videogame oriented stores we have in Denmark. After this we'll have to make due with general electronic stores in malls that have limited supply and general weird pricing.
I will pop in just to see if theres statues or whatever and leave. Like i got a witcher 3 Geralt statue for 15$ because it was in the clearance bin.
The one I frequent tries to keep it elusively to video games, with any non video game merch being tucked into a corner, and the clerks try to at least make good conversation about video games (which would work if I weren't into less mainstream games ) so this does suck pretty bad but it;s overall practice was pretty shitty, I learned my lesson trading in a game for 3 dollars, know I hold on to every game I get my hands on, so thanks gamestop for making me a collector of unsorted video games
My local Gamestop still stocks FNAF merch No wonder they're struggling
So Gears of War, then
Kind of a bummer since my opinion on Game Stop did a complete 180 since I hadn’t been in one in like five years until last month and bought a couple games and I had to go to two different ones to get the games I wanted, but in both of them the staff were surprisingly helpful and the prices weren’t a ripoff either. I was actually planning on stopping in again if I wanted a copy of something older and didn’t want to wait two days for Amazon.
Say what you will about GameStop, but I actually liked trading stuff in there. Sure, you might get pennies for older games, but I used to just buy games, beat them in a week, and return them to get most of my money back.
Haven’t gone to a GameStop in years, but honestly around here they usually had pretty good deals on stuff.
>On Monday, Reuters reported that the Grapevine, Texas-based company was in discussions with private equity firms about a potential deal after receiving buyout interest. Oh no. Oh no.
I haven't been to a Gamestop in years. Well over 5 years.
Are you sure you're not from pawn stars.
Maybe if GameStop didn’t have its head so far up its ass maybe it would be liked. Like maybe price matching other stores? Why would I ever want to walk to a store when I could buy the same games for less on Xbox Live or the eShop? Why the fuck are certain games more expensive on physical than digital? It makes zero sense.
Say what you want about the physical stores, but GameStop online has some of the most competitive prices for retro games. Hopefully this aspect isn’t lost in the merger
Given how gamestop destroys games and other hardware that's considered unfit for sale by their standards, I'm fine with them getting shitcanned.
I haven't bought anything from Gamestop since the Xenoblade scandal so I'm fine with them fucking off.
Hopefully whatever takes it's place learns from history
A proud Canadian commercial.
Remember that time Gamestop tried to sell a used pizza
WELL WELL WELL This one's for my nigga Electronics Boutique in the Castleon Square Mall. What goes around comes around.
