Which then brings up the classic "At what point is 'just following orders' a valid excuse" discussion. Which is complicated by such questions as "What would happen to you if you didn't follow orders?", "Would the orders be carried out by someone else if you didn't?" and such whathaveyounots.
Isn't that exactly what the Nazis did? You can't do something morally/ethically abhorrent and then turn around and say "I was just following orders". The blood is still on your hands.
He's right in a way, no point in everyone pointing their fingers at individuals in ICE, as much as they are apparently similar to Nazis in this case, the problem starts with the Government, fingers should be pointing that way primarily.
It is quite literally exactly what the Nazis did. In fact, it's so much what the Nazi's did that the phrase "Nuremberg defense" came into knowledge because so many Nazis tried as part of the Nuremberg proceedings used "I was just following orders" as a defense Fascism in action
We prosecute concentration camp guards.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superior_orders Yes, very much so.
A comfy government job get you great benefits. With how expensive health care is in America and how disliked ICE is right now the risk of death is real.
Yeah I'm just saying if you are ready to prosecute these people but are just sitting crossing your fingers regarding your government including congress and the multitude of others that are associated with this situation then your priorities are in the wrong order.

He said this too: “Let’s protect American citizens as much as you’re fighting for the illegal alien.” America turning into some fascist powerhouse isn't a fantasy anymore. I pray more people wake up and take action against what's going on, whether it's by voting or protesting. You already have "suicides" in these concentration camps. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/a-family-was-separated-at-the-border-and-this-distraught-father-took-his-own-life/2018/06/08/24e40b70-6b5d-11e8-9e38-24e693b38637_story.html?utm_term=.5589fbecbde7
ICE needs to be abolished and everyone involved with it needs a thorough investigation.
So even if this wasn't comparable to Nazis, we can now compare him to Nazis for this defense because that's what Nazis did. This is so funny in an incredibly grim way.
That headline is a work of art
Wir haben es nicht gewußt!
Can we start pushing a hashtag like #IceICEBaby or something, jfc Every goddamned day this shit just gets cranked up another notch in badness
Some fox analyst says the people at the camps are crisis actors now? Read that on a national site so I can't really translate it right now, maybe someone can find it and make a thread?
ann coulter called the children "child actors" and that they were given scripts. she also said directly to the camera to trump (because they know hes watching) to not fall for the childrens lies
Yeah I'm seeing lots of Trump people calling it faked and the pictures staged.
From what I can find right now, Ann Coulter said something like that ('child actors').
my rebuttal to her https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEUlW9IDXOw
When he says ICE is just following orders it's quite telling that he isn't fazed or even saddened about how bad the law truly is and instead just changes the subject. Based on this I actually think he quite likes the law the way it is and would even defend it given the chance.
The Nazis never killed anybody for refusing to take part in the holocaust, the worst they could expect was a unit transfer. Which makes the comparison even morr apt.
Jesus Christ, after that story about trumps campaign manager mocking a down syndrome child getting seperated from their parents, can republicans get any more evil? Saturday morning cartoon villains aren't as evil as this
I know this have been said countless times, but this is the kind of title you would see on an Onion article a few years back.
https://twitter.com/SimonMaloy/status/1009275908342124544 Because you had to ask, yes, in fact they can.
you know, i dont really understand why ICE holds them in prison camps in the USA, why can't they just dump them in Mexico instead? They are Mexican citizens, after all? It's not US' responsibility or right to do harm or good to these people.
"Banality of evil" being brought up as a defense, good fucking gracious
A unit transfer to the eastern front was pretty close to being killed for not taking part though.
Onion writers are on suicide watch
