I honestly expect that the plan for this is to sign the executive order and then watch it get struck down in courts within hours. That way, Trump has an obvious scapegoat to point out by saying "I tried to help but the evil, evil courts stopped me" or something to that effect.

Will the next Executive Order declare detainees to be "excess populace" scheduled for removal by ovens? Will we stop feeding them and supplying them with water? What's next with this administration? This is disgusting but not surprising. Trump openly stated during the campaign that if elected he would violate the Constitution and commit warcrimes. He's doing exactly what he said he would for over 2 years now.

It's a step in the right direction I suppose, but still has major issues on its own. Namely, with this order he is able to detain immigrant children indefinitely, attempting to circumvent the Flores agreement that prohibited doing that for more than 20 days.

Because now the families can be together. Early childhood trauma usually has heavy consequences through out the rest of ones life. Minimizing that as much as possible is a good thing.

It's happened. I expect it to be shut down within a day due to it being a flagrant violation of the Flores settlement in spite of the fact that the order is asking courts to modify that settlement.
So we might get another constitutional crisis soon if trump continues to act in spite of court rulings since I doubt any judge wants to be the person who said it was okay to indefinitely detain children in jail.

He does not in any way deserve to be classified as anything similar to human beings, you know animals with the ability to distinguish right from wrong.
