http://i.imgur.com/PrYyKw6.png Arkane Studios is a video game developer based in Lyon, France and owned by ZeniMax Media. The studio was founded in 1999 by Raphael Colantonio, its first CEO and creative director, and its first game, Arx Fatalis, was released three years later. Arkane Studios opened an office in Austin, Texas on July 2006. In October 2006, Arkane released another title, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. In 2008, Arkane recruited Harvey Smith as co-creative director. In August 2010, Arkane Studios was acquired by ZeniMax Media. On June 27, 2017, Colantonio announced stepping down from Arkane Studios. Harvey Smith took over the direction of the Austin studio while Colantonio will stay to Lyon to help the first studio transition to new management. Arkane Studios is primarily known for their immersive sims, and its devs contributed to a lot of the staples of the genre we know today, including titles like System Shock and Deus Ex. Aside from the creation of the Dishonored series and their reboot re-imaginening of the Prey IP during their time at Bethesda, Arkane also contributed to the level design for Bioshock 2, and worked on the eventually canceled Return to Ravenholm (Half-Life 2: Episode 4). http://i.imgur.com/oONHvpu.png ABOUT Dishonored is set in Dunwall, an industrial whaling city where strange steampunk- inspired technology and otherworldly forces coexist in the shadows. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is besieged by plague and ruled by a corrupt government armed with industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever. Dishonored has four primary DLC packs, each with different themes and content. Dunwall City Trials contains mission-based mini-games based on the world of Dishonored. Void Walker's Arsenal contains all in-game bonuses, originally given out with pre-ordered copies of the game, but is also included in the Game of the Year edition and Definitive Edition. The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches follow the story of Daud, antagonist and nemesis to Corvo, who must solve a mystery given to him by the Outsider before his time of redemption - and the Empire's - runs out. Mooncrash is a realy unique take on a story DLC! I realy want more now.. I love how they also showed us how Typhoon made it to earth!
https://www.pcgamer.com/prey-modders-uncover-cognizant-disc-rifle-weapon-cut-from-game-in-files/
The weapon is said to eventually stop firing on moral grounds. If only it wasn't cut.
So I was enjoying Mooncrash, until today. I was working on getting Andrius’s story objective unlocked (I managed to hack and repair the portal) when suddenly I got stuck in a wall. Because I spammed time loop delays, I was still in level one, no typhon were in the halls, and I had the last chance neuromod so I literally had no way to kill myself. so I had to wait until the timer ran up since there’s no way to quit out of the simulation. so I waited, and waited and waited last night until I died. By then I got fed up and decided to do something else. i loaded up mooncrash this morning to pick up where I left off and it crashed. No big deal, until I realized “what if my last save was when I was still in the wall??” lo and behold, i loaded back in, still stuck in the fucking wall and back at level 1 god damn it
The game really, really needed more weapons
Did they really never add the option to center the crosshair in Prey? I hate bad console ports that make you stare at the ground on PC.
Unfortunately, they haven't given a built-in option yet. However, you can use the unofficial Prey Interface Customizer to set several options you couldn't otherwise, which includes crosshair position among other things.
I just finished the Mooncrash DLC, that was fun but disappointing at the same time. It was a lot easier than expected considering the "rogue-like" description of it. I escaped with all of the crew members in about 10 minutes on a single run while keeping it at level 1 corruption all the way through. Never encountered the Nightmare either or too difficult odds. I thought those randomized variables like power loss, hazards and all that would be even harsher but nope. Only one place lost power at the time for me which was easy to fix by installing new power boxes or borrowing some from a place I wouldn't visit anyway. I never found myself in a situation with either low ammo or little resources, nor did I encounter situations where I had to handle things differently other than some broken stairs or burning pathways with just as accessible alternate routes a few meters away. Fun, but too easy.
How do you unequip Psi abilities from the favorite wheel? Do you seriously think that the crosshair in Prey comes from a bad console port? It's a good port and the crosshair thing is on purpose. They wanted the player to look up often, so they placed it there.
The crosshair being low doesn't encourage me to look up. It encourages me to get pissed off because it's terrible. There are other ways to get players to look up and making aiming awkward isn't one of them
In every game I've ever played with an off-center cross hair, I've never noticed it until it was pointed out to me. Like I get it's different for everyone, but I never understood why some people find it so intrusive.
the crosshair position lets you keep an eye on your surroundings while you pick up loot from the floor
When 98% of FPS games on PC have the direction you're looking level with the center of the screen, it's pretty damn annoying when a developer decides making it halfway between the center and bottom is more useful. If level and gameplay designs encourage vertical exploration, a player will learn and utilize things above them move often. I can't speak for everyone but I don't need my vision jutted downwards to figure out "oh gosh golly there's a whole direction up their huh game developers gee thanks!"
I'm so glad they added more weapons in Mooncrash. The lack of weapons was really annoying in the main game. Just recently beat it again in New Game +. Not enough weapons by default, by far.
I kinda can't believe that D2 released as it did. Even on my beefcake of a rig the game still find the most random times to go super unstable.
It really sucks since the Void Engine can look really good too. There’s some areas that I still think look really good, namely the Conservatory mission
I have an extra key for Prey(Base game only). Ask me if you want it.
I´ll take it if noone else is interested.
https://twitter.com/bethesda/status/1022024372503105536 Oh boy oh boy
it looks great on a technical level but i personally dislike the painterly not quite cel-shaded style, i find it quite unnecessary and unevenly-applied since the games have pretty good art direction to begin with.
How timely, I just finished replaying the first one and its DLC. But why the tease?
At this point I'll just take optimisations, Dishonored 2 is so unpleasant to play, even now.
It’s the Dishonored 1 mask though, so I’m doubtful it has anything to do with 2, unless it’s a remaster with 2’s level of fidelity. But the definitive edition exists so I’m doubtful it’s that either.
Oh no Could that be a Switch version or a VR experience? I seriously hope not. CORVO PLAYERMODEL IN QUAKE CHAMPIONS
Can I have this please? Steam Community
I'm thinking maybe a Switch port(s), since recently a job application for Arkane popped up which notes experience with the Switch SDK being a desired skill. Maybe we'll find out at QuakeCon since it's about 2 weeks away and announcements and panels are done there for various Bethesda properties, not just Id.
Would be slightly disappointing if it's just the first one getting ported but again, the second one is such a performance mess, I wouldn't fault them never being able to port it over. But portable versions of good games are always nice. Even if they are old.
You mean in Dishonored 1 right? D2 throttled back on the painted style. D1 ran on Unreal, The Void Engine has only been used on D2 and the expansion (and given its current state, it’s likely not gonna be used on another game).
I think that's what he meant yeah, I kind of agree with him, Dishonored 2's artstyle is insanely good, that semi-realistic/semi-artwork look is just hgnnnnnn. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/869616785346094084/8DDD2F049A16345260EFB9C5AFC53FBE2054F9A8/?interpolation=lanczos-none
