I don't know if this is something that is widely agreed upon but in the past I've felt like some of their songs and music videos were phoned in on purpose, just for the sake of being weird and indecipherable, maybe even hostile.
From what I've seen of this album so far I feel like that is the modus operandi of this whole album, like they're trying to drive away their audience.
For me personally, I haven't really been feeling what they've released so far, the only reason I'm keeping up with this is to see what inexplicable shit they pull next not for their music.
Hopefully the full release will change that, or maybe it will grow on me over time like a lot of their older tracks.

I would totally believe that this album is some sort of intentional strike against their fanbase or their reputation but I have really enjoyed what I've heard so far.
Also it never ceases to surprise me how their releases leak so much every time.
