Rob Rogers is one of the best cartoonists in the biz and this is very upsetting.
Oh, well. They'll lose the readership of his fans and anyone who doesn't care to read a propagandist tabloid. And he's sure to be snapped up by another publication who wants his talents and wit.
I find it interesting that Trump's reputation is so toxic that even his own propagandists will deny being members of his cult.
Being a native of Pittsburgh, I don't understand why the Post-Gazette is shifting further right, as Pittsburgh is a historically Democratic city; this is not good news from the paper imo
Then let's hope this shift heralds a swift death to the paper. If it doesn't know its audience, it's bound to fail.
The Tribune Review is the only other big local newspaper I know of, and it is primarily right-leaning; I would wager that the Trib gets more readers that the Post-Gazette and this is a move to try to up readership.
I can't possibly imagine this backfiring horribly.
I was going to post this a few days ago when it happened but I figured that many of the spirited first amendment, free speech defenders on FP would get to it.
This would have made national headlines all week if it was a right wing cartoonist who was fired by a left wing editor.
