Kessler is holding the rally in Washington, D.C. on the anniversaries of the violence in Charlottesville: the torch-lit march by white nationalists at UVA and the deadly rally at Emancipation Park. The National Parks Service approved a permit for the event. He was denied a request to hold the anniversary rally in Charlottesville with the city saying it would posed a danger to public safety and couldn't be accommodated in the location he requested. Kessler's D.C. permit allows him to hold a two-day protest in Lafayette Park near the White House on August 11 and 12. He's still litigating his request for a permit to hold a rally in Charlottesville on the same days. Emphasis mine.

Consider: a large amount of white supremacists are so used to white supremacy being the norm that they do consider it a civil right. They're so adjusted to society being biased in their favor that they've decided it's only proper for that bias to exist, and actual equality would be against them. Basically it's the same as the old "god made men better than women" argument applied to race instead of sex.

I still cannot stand the fact that the Pennsylvania and New York Lightfoot militias did more police work at CVille then the actual police. Something about it just never sat right with me.

I know, right? I'm generally not very comfortable with the idea of militias or anything even close to vigilantism but when the police are this incompetent, what other options are there, really?

I'm honestly thankful that they sorta are aligned with the Oathkeepers. Most of them would be veterans of the military or law enforcement if that's the case. Even then it just doesn't sit right that we need a heavily armed militia group for keeping order outside of an emergency and without supervision from the National Guard. As far as I'm aware of, all three militia groups that were present at Charlottesville had agreed too not return, but I highly doubt they have the same clause for stuff like this.
