Paul Simon to Stage Farewell Concert at Queens’ Flushing Meadows..
I just saw him last night in Greensboro. And last year in Charlotte.
At the age of 76, he stood there and played for 3 straight hours and didn't miss a beat. I can barely play barred chords for a half an hour or so before I get sore, so that's just ridiculous. And he didn't do the aging rocker thing where he just holds the guitar and lets everyone else on stage fill in the sound, nah, there were parts where it was just him alone with his acoustic guitar and the entire coliseum was entirely fixated.
It's a really great show and if it comes anywhere near you, go see it.
I mean, the guy is real old by now. I don't understand how some of these ageing musicians manage to continue touring and stuff. Has to be pretty taxing.
Also I gotta say, seeing my name in headlines makes me jump a bit.
