*Disclaimer, I don't own the game myself, just been binging youtube for the past week*
So I just saw Shadowfrax's video on the rust roadmap and there was a note on limiting the usefulness of honeycombing walls and instead placing emphasis on traps. How about if walls lose integrity over time and require maintenance rather than giving an upkeep cost per day to the closet? That way the completely inaccessible walls inside a honeycomb will degrade over time and render them useless/really easy to destroy.
On another note, perhaps 'wipeless' rust could be in the form of weather events that quickly degrade bases in portions of the server? An extreme storm could require players to actively maintain their base or else have it degrade to the point where anyone can waltz in and loot it. Players might be able to invest in some kind of early warning system that shows them the locations and times of impending storms, that would also give people in other parts of the island a reason to leave their location and try to raid unsuspecting bases during extreme storms in those locations.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
Good concept but program prohibitive.
I think it would eat the server resources like Tronald Dump in a hamburger factory!
This is on the mindmap and will eventually happen.
If you dont own it and dont play it why would you care what they did to it ?,
How much can you learn about the game by watching youtube videos ?
I've pretty much learn everything I know about Rust from binge watching youtubers.
Thats what I mean.
but the storms would also happen while the players are offline. if this constantly happened while the player is gone for a while there is no point in even having a base if you cant leave it for one storm without it being halfway ruined. it would make base keeping pretty much useless.
Thats true... perhaps a way to regenerate map resources over time if the game opts for true wireless rather than prestige-type levels.
