Landed a new job today, bought a 24 case of beer, midsummer eve tomorrow and also totally forgot Skeletonwitch is playing at our local bar tonight, in our little fucking city here in Sweden. Fuck yes, time to celebrate and get drunk { "ops": [ { "insert": { "postquote": { "text": "Metal. It is a glorious thing. Though many imposters may come, and many within our group of metal lovers may inspire hate, or spew stupidity, we can all stand strong behind true metal, be it heavy, power, thrash, speed, black, crossover, melodic, death, progressive, or anything in between. Here, today, we gather to discuss our god. Metal is his name, and he is heavy. All glory be to Metal, and may we all show our horns, humbled by its power. , "username": "" } } },
Skeletonwitch kicked ass!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKqGyzzUSBc Black Metal with Death influences from Portugal. The whole LP is bomb.
Crowbar came to our little city yesterday, they were really good. Chatted with Kirk and Tommy before and after the concert, super fuckin down to earth guys. Kirk gave my friend who plays guitar in our band a pick and we both got a signed set list each.
Seeing Arch Enemy tomorrow for the first time #stoked
https://youtu.be/O2HVUARBnaw?t=2m56s Ignore the first track, it's terrible. I made an EP called "The Alpha Project". I haven't done vocals in 3 of these tracks, mainly because I'm not well equipped and have to mix stuff myself. Hopefully you guys don't hate these tracks as much as I do.
The new Skeletonwitch album is pretty good. Should be getting Immortals soon too.
I want to listen to it, but i'm scared to find out that there is nothing left of old skeletonwitch
Most of what I heard were from hideously low quality leaks on YT, so I cant argue production, but yeah its all pretty similar to what we've heard with the singles they already released. I gave up a bit less than half way through due to the quality of the video, but I did like the music, i think. Also, some fresh Retrocation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNqO2Cd-klA
I can totally get behind this thread title. Man, I love my concert agenda this year. Already seen some really great bands, saw Descendents on Saturday (punk goes here too, right?), got a whole bunch more lined up over the next few months.
That song was pretty good. I wasn't super excited for Revocations new album because I didn't really care for the last one, Great Is Our Sin, but I'm definitely gonna give it a chance now.
Are you telling me you dont remember this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rXZs9FviFQ
Lol, oh yeah
Man, the new Northlane song is pretty damn good https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8Ms6atpNRA
Oh cool, Northlane is going on a European tour. With no less than 3 stops in Portugal and fucking FIVE stops in Germany but nothing in the Netherlands, what the hell.
new hoth album was dope https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBQsc0pN2Ig I also listened to Tomb Molds latest album recently and it's sick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCrKC27L_fw
I honestly prefer when bands dont take themselves too seriously. I think Modern Music videos are more of a promotional product for the band itself, not the song. So if the band releases a song with politically charged lyrics, and the music video is preachy, it wouldn't look good for the band. If they release a music video that shows them having fun, It shines a brighter light on them. Probably why Allegaeon grew bigger after their 1.618 video. A band that has fun can rise above the rest.
just got the new skeletonwitch album early on vinyl, which is weird because I don't remember ordering it. vv too bad i don't own a record player LOL
Did you order a CD and get the Vinyl instead, or just randomly get the vinyl?
After about year since its release, I took some time out to listen to Alestorm's No Grave But The Sea and uh...I think I hate it. Okay, yes, Fucked With An Anchor is just as funny as the first time I heard it but the rest of the album proves their critics right; they've run out of ideas. I've heard everything on this album before, they recycle themselves so blatantly.

I played Resurrection Fest last saturday, it was pretty great! Got to chat with Keijo from Rotten Sound, saw Kiss in the front row with the dudes from Eyehategod and saw Exodus play to a huge crowd from the side of the stage.
Shameless self promo but if you're into Deafheaven, Alcest and Amesoeurs then maybe you'll like this: - I play guitar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVXxQyPrFDA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwVX-tRvvio&list=WL&index=10 Excited for this new Primitive Man split. Also a few weeks late, but I saw Bell Witch in Chicago. They played the first hour or so of Mirror Reaper, it was amazing aside from the fact some people in the back were having a super loud conversation during all the quiet parts.
My spare glasses got knocked off my head during the Menzingers just now. Which wouldn't be an issue except I've got Bad Religion tomorrow. FUCK!
Crisis solved. Picked up glasses that sort of work for my eyes for 10 euros. Psyched!
And just got back. Absolutely spent but goddamn, tonight was great. I'd heard of Bad Cop Bad Cop before but I wasn't too familiar with their material. It's pretty fucking nice, though. Stylistically, parts of it do remind me of Bad Religion, I can see why they opened for them. Definitely keeping an eye out on what they do next. Also, their bass player is super adorable with how much energy she has. As for Bad Religion...it was a Bad Religion show. I got sweaty, I flung myself across the pit, I got flung across the pit, I yelled my lungs out and I left the venue feeling like I was a 70-year old man. I.e. great success.
I saw Bell Witch back in march. I was only able to see about 30 minutes of Mirror Reaper, but it was fucking haunting.
To replace my terrible first track from the EP The Alpha Project, I have come up with this: Fear of No Death | Evig Gonoré
I saw Slayer two weeks ago and UNHOLY FUCK THEY HAD THE COOLEST STAGE EVER!!! Not to mention the fact they played an almost flawless set list. They played three songs from Repentless which I am not a fan of, but they played two of the songs immediately so they at least got them out of the way. Besides those three mediocre songs they played everything I wanted to hear during my third and last(?) time seeing slayer. They had three different backdrops they used during their set and a transparent curtain in front of the stage that they projected inverted crosses and their logo on during the intro. They also had a FUCKING LOT of flames. They had pyrotechnics going off almost every song(or it at least felt like they did). During a few of the songs they were on from beginning to end. It was so unbelievably hot that I almost threw up after moshing during Chemical Warfare. I can't imagine how the drummer Paul didn't pass out or take any breaks during the hour and a half long set. I got a few good picks showing the flames, but they also had more pyrotechnics(that I couldn't get a good pic of) set up behind the drummer that would shoot thin streams of flame that form an incomplete inverted pentagram when they are all turned on. They also had some on either side of him that would form inverted crosses too. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/defc4121-c269-49c6-8b34-3ed701ed2d2d/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/d5f7cd5e-8f38-434e-9795-362f4a60b219/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/04aae22c-f260-43a9-8bd8-eeb1cbc2e880/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/89cde6d1-5159-48a9-8ad8-a82a81bf2464/image.png Anthrax also had a great set as usual. Wish they had played I Am The Law, but there is only so much you can fit into a 40 minute set and also it's my third time seeing them(second time this year) so I'm not really that upset. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/f805d1a8-39d8-4bb3-90b5-a1326008f34f/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/39a6655c-36f0-426a-a667-38ce4b11f659/image.png Testament were pretty good live. I really only like their first album and maybe half of the songs on their second album so I wasn't super excited to see them play, but they put an a damn good live performance. They definitely have that same level of professionalism on stage that both Anthrax and Slayer have. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/7cb5ee46-503c-4034-8f88-15f3dbcc243a/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/a5f03d18-cf15-4ef7-8eaf-9aab84e3cf85/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/d29cae66-15a3-4710-a4cc-4751ca7d59d9/image.png Napalm Death were cool. I haven't actually taken the time to sit down and listen to their music before, but I probably should because I can tell it's something I could get into. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/227457/505cf61b-799c-4460-8b79-f9b79696722c/image.png Lamb of God were boring as shit, but it was a good opportunity to retreat to the vendor area to re-hydrate and sit down in front of the air conditioning before the hour and half long onslaught of Slayer.
