Thread notification icon seems too much like a broken image icon at firstglance

Something about that is driving my brain crazy because as soon as I open up the bell icon my brain goes "oh no broken images!". Maybe it's just me but does anyone else get that?

(Also a lot of these images need some contrast from the nuclear flash white background.)
