sorry what
While I'll admit that the federal government needs restructuring, this current administration is so far from the sort of leadership that I'd trust to restructure things.
If anything, the only restructuring the current administration needs to be doing is to restructure themselves out of the government, and any positions in power, I'd say.
This is, point by point, identical to the Koch lobbying agenda. This is what they've been pumping hundreds of millions of dollars into Republican candidates for.
The biggest issue with the US is that there isn't a comparable example on earth of a population of that amount spread across multiple states operating under a federal government, so you can see in that document the attempt to streamline and consolidate power, probably just to make it easier to operate.
The power shall always lie solely in the hands of the people. Anything less is a tyrannical leadership.
Enjoy your freedom while you can, my fellow Americans..
This deserves to shot straight into the sun. And to never see the light of day.
Trump annouces America 2. No-one makes an even more perfecter union than Him.
/s
So... what can we do to stop this?
Can't keep waiting on Mueller. I mean I call my reps pretty frequently but this is Utah so its near moot at this point.
Well, shit. Canada is actually looking better and better by the day.
"I love democracy"
Read that whole twitter thread in the OP.
"Michelle From Delaware, America's foremost expert on domestic policy, continued: 'I don't know much about government but I saw Mr. Trump take a dump on stage and it was pretty impressive.'"
Oh no baby what is you doing
What the fuck is this shit
Every time something gets privatized I die a little inside.
Highlights of horror:
Privatizes both the post office and FAA. So say goodbye to one of the best mail services in the world.
Massive cuts to education and consumer protection.
Citizens are referred to as "customers"
Selling off federal land en masse.
This is the endgame right here. The Republicans are trying to sneak around the bureaucratic inertia that's kept the country running despite them by killing the bureaucracy entirely and replacing it with their own loyalists. If this goes through it's nothing short of a coup.
I've never voted in any elections, not even the last one when I was deployed. But you can bet your ass I'm gonna be in those polls to vote this embarrassment out of office in 2020.
From what I read all this is is a recommendation form explaining whats been going on with the agencies in their plan to change under the new administration (most likely since it's the people trump put in), and the main takeaway they reiterate is that they'll be working with Congress to implement and hammer out details this year. So if this is held too long up then elections could come and take away GOP rule of Congress, which would make them go crazy fast through this just to implement it last minute so all the proposals are set. Idk how to feel about the elections now lol i guess you could always just reverse it, but hot damn. If they ramshot through it then they could f it up more than it already looks.
Fuck that. Get your ass out and registered for this November. We need these midterms to go well for the country to even last through 2020.
Don't the FAA run most if not all air traffic control, and maintain standards and regulations built up over decades of crash experiences to keep them from happening again?
Trump's era of history's going to be called the nazi gilded age. The first gilded age ended with a president dying and his vp (who was unpopular in the party) making large changes.
How about we let a competent administration do it. This one can't even handle facts about a crowd size without throwing tantrums
Oh boy oh boy and here I was hoping for a boring, predictable political chapter in which to live my life so I could focus on, you know, my life, instead of worrying about looming impending disaster.
This will be the downfall of America. The worse part is such things take time and the true end probably won't happen for another decade after Trump leaves and/or is dead.
With so much privatization on this scale planned, I guess you could talk about corporations with a state, holy fuck this is terrible.
Best of luck to you american folk, you'll need it.
So, how will this come to pass? Will they have to vote on this stuff individually, as a package, or can the Trump admin just force it through without a vote?
no no no no no
privatizing ATC is a terrible terrible idea.
The document does literally refer to the American people as "customers."
This is honestly terrifying.
How long would it take for something like this to go into effect, and what does it have to go through to begin?
How about go fuck yourself with a rusty blender you rotten piece of human sewage.
I'm not certain of the exact details but I think it'd need to pass Congress. But with the GOP currently in control and this benefiting them a lot I'm not confident they can be counted on to not be totally fuckign retarded. I think that the Supreme Court could get involved too because this seems like it would be extremely unconstitutional but that takes time and he could abuse that time to remove the Supreme Court.
