• Looking for a good quality sound isolating headset

My price range is 80-200$ could stretch further but basically I have a loud office and I need to hear for my work, and My current headset is inadequate in blocking out external noise, and I have no idea what I'm looking when looking at headsets. I am looking at Audio Technica's ATH-M50x but I still have no idea if its what I really want.
I have the M50x for a good 4 years now, sound isolation is pretty good but it's not perfect but if you have music on you really won't hear anyone, even if they stand right behind you talking..However, the leather earpads will stick to your skin during hot weather and generally you'll have hot ears (even with aircon). The leather earpads also wear out pretty quickly with heavy usage so you need to replace them yearly or faster. I switched to velour ones after 2 leather replacements which fixes the stickyness and heat issue but obviously the sound isolation is pretty much gone now. When it comees to audio I like the M50x, it's pretty bass heavy which is good for me since I pretty much only listen to EDM, not so much for stuff like rock. I'm not sure what you want to use these for anyway since it's work related, if it's actually human voices you want to listen to you might need some time to get used these because the bass will effect voices. Pretty sure audio wise there's better choices these days anyway. It mightt be better to look into sound isolating earbuds instead. I think those might do a better job at isolating sound, your ears won't heat up and it might actually be nicer in general if you need to keep them in for long durations.
I've looked at earbuds but I've never had a pair that's never worn out at the cord, so I'm skeptical to spend more than 30 bucks on a pair. And to clarify I work in game dev so I feel like I need " Accurate " sounding headphones.
I would not recommend earbuds. If you are going to use them as a sound canceling device you will end up damaging your ears. Use headphones.
M50x is a fine choice. Durable, pretty accurate sound, very good at sound isolation, and not too expensive. If you find the default ear pads to be uncomfortable (I can't say I do), there's always 3'rd party replacements you can go for.
m40x + equalizer is a good cheap alternative to m50x i've had mine for four years and listened for probably 8 hours a day consistently with only some peeling of the leather pads
Yo thanks for all the info about headsets I'll probably be picking up an M50x when I get around to it.
