While I can hope he loses the election and his Islamofascist movement falls flat on its face, my money is on him either rigging the vote or siezing power regardless of the vote (which seems more likely after his various purges in the military and police).
Well there are already multiple reports of fraud commited by both AKP and HDP in Eastern Turkey.. Police just seized a vehicle with 4 bags that were full of ballot paper.
toughest challenge being how to assassinate him without causing a coup
Give em hell Turkey, kick that fucking gremlin out.
I'm a bit worried about what Erdogan will do if the opposition takes parliament and he's forced into a second round for president. He'll have two weeks of knowing that if he loses in the second, it's all over. How far would he go to prevent that?
Terror attacks are first thing that comes to my mind. Calling his side of the turkey is second. Somebody from the opposition already got shot, alongside 2 more citizens in a fight during the voting. Its definitely not looking good here, and for the first time in awhile i am actually concerned about Turkey, if the polls go into the second round.
Holy shit! I can't believe it https://i.imgur.com/JDdclVA.png
well fuck
So a lot of Turkish people who live here have just been celebrating around the city all night. Could hear those car horns in the distance coming from the old town area. Feels like I'm part of an unofficial region of Turkey.
Erdogan won according to the official electoral commission https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/24/europe/turkish-election-results-intl/index.html It was nice knowing you Turkey, you were the last bastion of sanity and stability in an insane and unstable region for such a long time and now you're about to become an islamofascist shithole like Iran.
I wonder if the senate and house will get their asses in gear and start blocking them from military equipment sales now since erdogan can and will just push through russian military acquisitions now
Plausible deniability.
What about the Kurds in Syria?
What real power do they have? Certainly not any substantial backing anymore from Western powers. Certainly not access to Western intelligence and assets that might give them the opportunity and means to assassinate Erdogan.
Sorry I didn't clarify, I meant in regard to Turkey not being an international threat when it invaded parts of Syria just to attack Kurds. Would that not count as an abuse to people outside his country?
