http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/393569-grassley-wants-to-subpoena-comey-lynch-after-critical-ig-report Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) wants to subpoena former FBI director James Comey and Loretta Lynch, who served as attorney general in the Obama administration. Grassley would like to question the pair about a critical report released last week by the Department of Justice's (DOJ) inspector general that scrutinized the FBI's handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while secretary of State. At a Judiciary Committee hearing earlier this week, Grassley criticized Comey and Lynch for not appearing before his panel. Grassley said Comey's attorney told him that the former FBI chief was out of the country "although I saw he was in Iowa over the weekend. According to his Twitter feed, he seems to be having a wonderful time." During an interview for C-SPAN's "Newsmakers" show set to be aired Friday, Grassley said, "I want to subpoena [Comey and Lynch]."Grassley noted that under the rules of the Judiciary Committee, the chairman and the ranking member – Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) – must both agree on the use of subpoenas. Pressed on the timing of the possible subpoenas, Grassley laughed and said, "If Sen. Feinstein told me yesterday that she would do it, we'll do it." The DOJ inspector general report was critical of both Lynch and Comey's handling of the FBI investigation into Clinton's emails, finding that agency protocol was broken.
As cute as this is, what does Grassley hope to accomplish, exactly? Comey's no longer in the FBI. Lynch is no longer in government at all. You can't criminally charge former government officials for breaking protocol. And Clinton herself, of course, is dead in the water as possibly the only Democrat in America who could have lost an election to Donald fucking Trump. So what is he after, really? More deflection and obfuscation to distract from the criminal and fascist currently in the Oval Office?
An investigation into how the FBI handled the Clinton emails is in fact deeply needed, but not for the reason Republicans are likely to expect: Comey was blackmailed by corrupt active and formerly-active FBI agents supporting Trump. The True Pundit hoax is a huge unreported story rich in corruption and election interference. And it guest-stars a familiar face: Rudy Giuliani. It is no accident that Giuliani is Trump's lawyer after having a longstanding public position that he would never be Trump's lawyer because Trump doesn't pay his lawyers' bills when invoiced. He's not there for the money, he's there because he's part of the conspiracy that elected Trump.
For those not familiar, The True Pundit hoax, also called the Trumplandia conspiracy, is pretty simple Agents at the FBI field office in communication with Rudy Giuliani conspired to blackmail Comey into releasing the infamous letter that the FBI was re-opening the investigation into Clinton's emails due to new evidence a week before the election. Though almost no part of this election occurred without tampering and interference, this singular event is largely credited as the straw that broke the camel's back and sunk Clinton's campaign, resulting in Donald Trump's election. The conspiracy itself played out like this: Anthony Weiner, a democratic Congressman in New York, was the subject of a completely unrelated investigation into inappropriate sexual communications with a minor. Dude was a sleezebag, and got well deserved prison time for it. In the course of this investigation, just before the election, his PC and electronics were seized. On them were copies of emails from Hillary Clinton. They were innocuous, non-incriminating, work-related, and already in the hands of investigators, but they needed to be reviewed to ensure that there were no new communications within them (there weren't). The existence of these emails was leaked by FBI field agents in New York to Trump associates Eric Prince and Rudy Giuliani. Prince and Giuliani immediately began to propagandize this in rags like Breitbart and True Pundit. They falsely claimed to have damning emails seized from Weiner's electronics that would prove that Hillary Clinton was days away from being arrested and charged. They revealed that they had these emails because of the fine men and women in the FBI (who Giuliani infamously said loved Trump -- the "FBI is Trumpland"). They promised to release them at any moment. Comey thus found himself in a damning position. He knew this was all bullshit, but feared that remaining silent would allow these slimeballs to besmirch the public faith in the FBI by politicizing and misrepresenting leaked material, thus undermining the election with a lie. To protect the FBI, he thus felt that the only thing he could do was draft a letter to congress explaining that they WERE reviewing Clinton emails, hoping to eradicate the propagandist narrative before it ran out of control and saw the FBI accused of trying to protect Hillary Clinton by hiding evidence of her wicked ways from the public and so forth. We know what happened next, of course: Devin Nunes immediately leaked this letter to the public, which the propagandists used as "proof" that the wild claims about Clinton's imminent arrest were true. It dominated the news cycle in the final days of the election, and Clinton lost the election by a margin so thin that it literally came down to as low as 5 votes per precinct in the lynch-pin battleground states that gave Trump the win. NOTE: recounting this from memory. Please do correct me if I've forgotten any pertinent info.
To add to this, the NY FBI field office completely stonewalled Comey and did absolutely jack shit to process these emails in any time. They were in no hurry to inspect them so they could be cleared and determined inconsequential -- the agents in Trumplandia needed the emails to be an unknown factor because they were key to the leverage against Comey. Comey asked them to review them so they could be classified and put to bed as this or that, and the NY field office said "sure" and then proceeded to masturbate for weeks. When Comey followed up with them to ask what the holdup was, they gave him bullshit and started with the blackmail instead of, y'know, doing their jobs. So when Trump is on Twitter or in front of a camera claiming that there was/is an FBI conspiracy against him with the Russia issue, not only is he protesting too much for an innocent man, he is projecting like hell.
So basically this election already was a coup.
The Republican part should be declared a criminal organization
I can't be the only one sick of seeing Polidicks fill up with posts like these? People need to get a hold of their emotions.
"No judges or court cases!" He's taking a bridge too far in recommending that the entire Republican Party be outlawed and criminalized, no fucking doubt, but he's not wrong in saying this about the leadership allowing this to happen. The President of the United States is trying to selectively destroy constitutional rights for specific ethnic groups. Outrage is the appropriate response to that.
