Not sure how old it actually is but I read it years ago (at least a decade I think). It was about the sun causing extreme violence and selfdestructive behaviour in adults, without affecting teens. Eventually the main group survived and we get shown that they basically restarted civilization (due to archeologists finding cave paintings of airplanes etc). Does this sound familiar to anybody?

Trying. As I said it was years ago, probably more than a decade. I think there was a section on a cruise ship, and it wasn't the sun perse but either sunrise or sunset that affected only adults, and only if they saw it.
