Trump also accused Harley-Davidson, without providing any evidence, of intentionally misleading Americans by saying the firm was moving some operations out of the United States in response to new tariffs imposed by the European Union. The intensity of these attacks, which he typically reserves for political opponents, came in Twitter posts. He alleged that Harley-Davison’s Monday announcement that it would move some more operations outside the United States was long planned and that it was using Europe’s new tariffs as an excuse. He threatened to hit the company with an unspecified tax if it attempted to sell motorcycles in the United States that were made outside the country. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1011584315040419840 Zero sympathy for the execs at Harley who supported this goon.
Small government till it's inconvenient.
is this peak free market?
So much for bringing in new jobs to the market!
Oh man this is actually pretty amazing I love how trumps stupidity somehow ends up coming back to those supported him in the most ironic ways. "Hey guys lets get this idiot elected, okay we did that now lets get that tax bonus and tell him we're gonna give it to our employees, okay well we got the hundreds of millions in tax breaks, should we try and show some gratitude by investing in our employees? Nahh lets cut a thousand jobs and send the plants overseas, I mean what is he gonna do, try and enforce regulations on a company by company basis? He can't do that! Trump: Hold my diet coke.
Is this winning?
GOP was never about the free market, it's about benefiting their donors' industries at the expense of those who don't fund them. LIke Harley-Davidson apparently.
I wonder, do you think the president could enforce tariffs on a specific brand? Better yet, who would try and stop him, and considering his travel ban just got upheld by gorusch theres not much he can't get away with.
"harley-davidson bikes should never be made in another country!" but your MAGA hats being made in china is fine, isn't it you fucking greasy glob of cheeto dust
Tweets say Donald Trump's 'Make America Great Again' hats are ma..
Firstly, how’s it feel being betrayed by Daddy Don? Never trust this crook. Secondly, President directly bullying private business again, nice.
I'm so sick of the shitgibbon.
The problem is they already got their golden parachutes by spending their tax savings on stock buybacks and laying off workers. The employees, as ever, are going to be the ones hurt by this, not the executives and stockholders.
So, the company tries to survive by moving their production to another country due to Trump's tariffs and bad business work. And instead of feeling sympathetic or something, he threatens them for reacting to an effect that he caused?
I thought Harley-Davidson did support Trump?
They did but surely not financially otherwise Trump wouldn't be spouting this textual diarrhea.
President Trump Has Lunch With Harley Davidson Executives And Un.. AAAAAHHAHAHAHAH Karrrmmmaas a biiiiitcchh
Harley Davidson got PRANKED Dunno how they didn't see this, maybe they expected some kind of preferential treatment?
I'd say they're getting preferential mistreatment now.
Trump is the DarksydePhil of Presidents. Nothing he does is smart.
"Oh my God, why can't I just make this law? It's fucking stupid, huhuh."
I've learned that small government just means defunding safety nets and deregulating big business.
Nah, the instant they said they were moving jobs overseas because of Trump's tariffs hurting their business, that made Trump look bad. It doesn't matter who you are, if you make him look bad he turns on you like an enraged serpent. Michael Cohen has done more for Trump than almost anyone alive today and Trump not only doesn't recognize his achievements, he threw him under a bus when Mueller started sniffing around. "Oh, I don't know anything about Cohen's business stuff, you'll have to go bug him," totally passing the buck and letting Cohen take the fall.
Karma's a bitch. Don't rely on backstabbing sociopaths. Rot in hell, you shitty motorcycle company. Honda makes better bikes anyway.
So he's trying to tax a specific entity just because they're doing something he doesn't like? I'm pretty sure you can't just do that. But let's read into what that tweet is really saying: "I AM YOUR KING AND YOU WILL OBEY MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"
I'm sure we can expect Republicans to stand up for the free market and slap Trump's hands away from king-like meddling with individual businesses over personal spats. ... I couldn't keep a straight face, I'm sorry.
Ah, poetic justice, how sweet it is.
How long until Trump signs a bill that grants you tax breaks for buying American® produced Harley Davidson™ motorcycles©?
Remember back in 2017 when all those CEOs were lining up at the WH to do leadership stuff and put corporate america in charge of the gubment! and then Trump opened his mouth over and over and over again and they realized they were just windowdressing. Now you'd think they would have learned their lesson, but no, they came back home the minute they heard there was tax cuts in the water, and swarmed. Maybe just maybe they'll come to their senses again and realize he's a madman bent on causing another great depression.
Have you ever seen Donald Trump laugh?
