Didn't they just realize that the engine that the PUBG runs on is owned by the same company that they sued?
Probably the smartest move they could make... besides not starting the suit in the first place. Hopefully they will just shut their mouths about it and go back to trying to make PUBG better.
That doesn't mean shit. My landlord might own my house, but if he kicks my dog to death I would still sue him.
Epic has taken away a company's license before, and they'll do it again. Although in that case it was about the provided engine functionality, not the product. Take a look at the EULA of Unreal Engine 4 https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/eula Chapter 17.c
I think you mean shallow pot with a long handle.
I don't think that is appropriate in this case though. Doesn't that only apply if a third party sued Epic because the Unreal engine itself infringes on a patent? Either way, it's wise to sue not Epic.
Epic couldn't really do anything with the fact that they made Unreal Engine, all they would do if they tried to use that as leverage is give PUBG Corp an actual reason to sue them.
Epic should add a frying pan pickaxe just to piss them off.
PUBG Corp. drops copyright lawsuit against Epic, number of people surprised:
They should instead add a drying pan!
Smartest thing PUBG has done yet. Now if they could actually make a decent game.
I enjoy PUBG in short bursts but at this stage there's very little optimism among most of the community that it'll ever get better. The changes are rarely well-received and their attitude to bug fixing seems to be more along the lines of 'hey here's this cool OTHER thing instead' rather than actually, you know, tackling the problem. I've had some amazing moments in PUBG, mostly with friends and a few times on my ownsome, but god if I haven't had to slog through an awful lot to get them.

Wow! What a shocker! Literally no one in the earlier thread about the lawsuit predicted this!
A more accurate parallel in this case is that your landlord got a cuter dog and now everybody is giving that dog more attention than yours.
No, please just watch the video Tekt posted above. People make all sorts of uneducated guesses about Bluehole suing and it is starting to get a bit annoying.
