Looks pretty good so far, I hope development goes smoothly. Not sure if EA still has the rights to the game IP but I just hope it won't suffer from C&D.
Last time i checked i dont think EA gives a shit about the license for BFME 1-2 and ROTWK. Since you can download those games for free with no backlash.
They let the Renegade fangame go on without a problem as long as it didn't generate any money, so I don't think they care unless you're cutting directly into any potential money that can be had from this.

Yes! A remake of a game I actually wanted! I put I fuckton of hours into all of the games with BFMEII my personal favorite. I cant wait to see what these people do with an unofficial remaster.
What do you mean no backlash?
guess i meant "Getting into Trouble"
EA in general seems content to let fans do whatever they want with the license. There's free open source versions of Tiberium Dawn and Red Alert being actively developed, with Tiberium Sun to follow.
Used to know a guy who always pathologically lied about helping develop BFME3. Kinda a weird thing to remember, but his incessant bullshit just kind of goes hand in hand with this franchise in my mind now...
To be fair TD and RA1 have been abandonware for like a decade.
Now someone make a War of the Ring rts game remake just for me.
How much better is BFME 2 compared to 1? I only ever played 1 and It was one of the few RTS games I enjoyed playing.
This makes me want to play the BFME games again... Absolute shame that EA has made it impossible to buy those games anywhere digitally.
You're in luck... T3A:Online
It was far bigger in scale and there was a lot of different factions added, most notably the Dwarfs, Elves and Goblins (Rohan was p much digested into Gondor), its expansion Wrath of the Witch King was also pretty great.

My only gripe with BFME1 was that the unit limit could not let you replicate the size of the armies in the movies. I felt very small when in the Good Helms Deep mission I could only recruit 300 units, with elven archers being 20+ units worth. The enemy AI however could match the 10,000 Uruk-Hai with no problem. How many Rohan soldiers were in that fight in the books and films? 1,000?
