Those cops are going to be slaughtered.
Mexico is really a differ place when you go there. At least near the border (~100 miles in), seeing fully armed military checkpoints is a pretty normal thing. It's basically an expectation that you'll see at least a couple soldiers standing around with their assault rifles. I have no idea if that is still normal when you get deeper into the country, though.
Just get some help from Joerg Sprave and it'll be the strongest police force on earth
It's definitely changed over the years. I was there 10 years when going to Nuevo Vallarta and I was surprised at how heavily armed the airport is. There were soldiers inside armed with G3s and an entrance at the back for cars had a tall guardtower with a soldier clearly armed with an LMG
Not even going to give them wrist rockets?
In a like post-apocalyptic movie or like a weird 80s kids movie, this would be great. In real life, this is just sad and concerning.
There are some countries to stay the fuck away from as a tourist and Mexico is definitely among them.
If I didn't live with so many hispanic people with family in Mexico, I would probably feel the same. It's definitely a different experience when you're with someone who fits right in.
And for the bitchin' candy, am I right?
To be fair, it might not be as straight forward to use as a gun, but this could be decent given the multitude of projectiles you could launch at people, I imagine launching spiked ball that electrocutes people much like a taser but without the wired connection between them and yourself? I know electrified darts fired from a weapon would be more ideal but in this case, fuggit, make the best with what you got.
Pfff, I'll take those street tacos al pastor anyday. You can't get them the same back here.
You have no idea how powerful slings are. The ones the Incas used against the Spanish were using just stone bullets and they were killing horses and penetrating 1-1.5 mm thick armor while also killing the spaniards wearing it. Now of course a sling is absolutely out performed by a hand gun and is not a substitute.
Hell, at first I thought, Damn that sucks but if they're given a decent slingshot and metal BBs, they could probably hold off an unarmed attacker. I thought maybe one of these: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/236793/44f98557-fd86-43f2-a3cf-b60619f8e897/image.png But no, of course they're given plastic toys to defend themselves against the cartels.
