amy should've been in charge of UC4. she should've been in charge of TLoU. instead we got the pretentious holier-than-thou jackass Druckman. amy has done amazing work and i only wish that we could see more of her in the industry.
I thought this game was already cancelled for good when Visceral was closed down.
that singleplayer bounty hunter game, 1488 or whatever was canned entirely and EA told the studio to start from the ground up on another multiplayer microtransaction riddled affair
no surprise that they killed that too after the backlash for all the shit EA pulled with BF2v2
It was "1313", you're thinking of the white supremacist thing. Anyways, we need EA to fuck off with the license. They've done so little noteworthy shit that this dry spell of Star Wars games is becoming unbearable. 2 Mediocre multiplayer shooters and a handful of mobile shits ain't cutting it.
they're above-average. TLOU is slightly better but still could've done with a better writer and designers at the helm.
Daily reminder of fuck EA.
There are members on this forum that genuinely thing Visceral was entirely in the wrong and deserved to be shut down, despite 100% of the evidence being on the contrary.
They got fucked with, and it's one of the few studios in which you can point to their failures and explicitly go "Wow that wasn't their fault"
Dead Space 3 was changed via executive mandate, and EA chopped off the ending and sold it, then made them cut out a bunch of features, then rushed it.
Hardline was a spinoff that had zero time to develop, no money, and then was sold for full price despite being basically a budget title, with a premium pass also slapped onto it
That Last Army of Two game? Not even made by them, EA renamed another studio to Visceral, then closed them down at the end of development, then blamed the ACTUAL VISCERAL STUDIOS FOR IT FLOPPING.
Fuck EA
If you're remotely surprised by this the problem is you, not EA.
UC4 is a perfect send off for the entire franchise? Its well written and paced, as well designed with wider arena's for players to engage opponents at angle. You could tell she was running out of ideas with UC3 being the way it is.
I can't speak for TLOU because I'm not interested in zombies.
Amy turned Legacy of Kain into some weird ass scifi cyclic interdimensional alien dramabomb bullshit. While she's better than druckman, she's had her share of "K..." moments all on her own.
UC3 was so obviously rushed it's kinda amazing. There are setpieces completely unrelated to the plot, and also one character might be a genie but they also cut that out
I'm glad they cut that out because it was already fucking convoluted.
Why must all the interesting Star Wars games get canned in favor of more Battlefront?
I hope she does something fantasy again. I loved the dramatic dialogue in Soul Reaver 1/2/Defiance
Soul Reaver and Blood Omen each have their own charm, and while Soul Reaver gets quite wacky I still found it fun to play through.
I think Dead Sun was meant to tone it back a little more (even though the 'spectral' realm still played a part), but the gameplay and style just didn't scream Legacy of Kain anymore from what I saw. Then it got canned and turned into that humans vs. vampires multiplayer only game Nosgoth, and then that bombed...
You don't need to remind me. I saw Mass Effect Andromeda on sale for 69 cents from cdkeys.com and I still chose to ignore it
I wonder if disney is starting to regret giving them the star wars game license yet
I watched a video about all the star wars games and they had this depressing visual.
The only star wars games (not counting mobile or Lego) to come out in 6 years was an unfinished battlefront 1, and a pay-to-win battlefront 2.

Seriously, I can barely imagine UC4 turning out better than it did; damn near flawless ending for those characters. That said, I really hope Amy Hennig gets a project that makes it to completion, she's got a lot of talent for weaving a good story and dialogue. Not to restate people too much, but this really is just a continuation of EA not knowing what the hell they're doing with the Star Wars license. People wanted Star Wars 1313, canned. People wanted whatever this one was because of Amy Hennig and Jade Raymond, canned. Ultimate fan dreams like KOTOR 3 and Republic Commando 2? Nowhere to be found.
You'd think it'd be piss easy to print money with the Star Wars license but somehow they've found a way to keep foundering.
Boy EA knows how to mismanage a license that should print money for them.
Fucking on-rails point-and-shoot vehicles on a multiplayer game. BFSW2 felt like they didn't really care.
They're both incredible games.
Wow, EA is on a roll with their Star Wars license. So far 3 games have come out of it, one of which was canceled and the other sold way below expectations and created a shitstorm of epic proportions. I really hope Disney is reconsidering their exclusivity deal.
TO be fair, EA took over all star wars licenses from Disney, which from an investor standpoint is great, from everybody else's standpoint is pretty awful.
I hope all this bullshit doesn't affect Respawn's Star Wars game and the eventual Titanfall 3, Vinny deserves better than this
Giving fucking EA exclusivity was the dumbest thing they could have done with star wars games
its a series that sells itself by name alone and EA still fucks it up
No they're really good games and we'll designed. I don't know what his problem is.
I feel bad for Amy, having spending years of your life on a project, trying to get something done only for EA to fuck it.
Amy Hennig assisted in the development of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and went on to write and direct Soul Reaver, SR2 and Defiance. She's capable of wonderful and complex narratives and would have been perfect for a Star Wars game. It's a real shame that she's no longer working on one but I'll look forward to whatever her new studio comes up with.
Dead Space transitioning from horror to other shit was legitimately a huge ripoff, it had a huge potential to be an actually good triple A horror franchise.
Just EA doing what they do best, fucking studios to death for short-term profit.
