I hope they have shit aim and no one gets hurt, but I know that's unlikely Wonder if it's a disgruntled employee, someone radicalized over fake news, or something else?
at least a few dead already according to the stream, one gunman in custody
Apparently 4 dead.
Well, fuck.
some people are linking it to this http://observer.com/2018/06/milo-yiannopoulos-encourages-vigilantes-start-gunning-journalists-down/

Is advocating violence a crime or just not protected by the first amendment? Because that's fucking insane and he should see consequences of putting that message out there with his platform
welcome to america babey, free speech is free speech even when it gets people killed
I am fully expecting him or someone on his team to backpedal HARD.
Capital Gazette reporter: https://twitter.com/PhilDavis_CG/status/1012421008597364742 https://twitter.com/PhilDavis_CG/status/1012421862402527232 https://twitter.com/PhilDavis_CG/status/1012422058972676097
Milo should be in jail for that.
I'm pretty sure inciting violence isn't protected under free speech, same with yelling fire in a crowded room for no reason.
No, advocating or threatening violence is not protected under the first amendment, neither is for example, yelling fire in a crowded building. What Milo did, at least at first glance, does appear to violate free speech protection.
It appears that's his version of the "why do you neat your wife?" response. In not a single source or statement have they presented that he ever meant it unironically, the only one they gave links to a daily stormer article where that author believes that unironically, not Milo. Is there any source that actually has Milo stating that's his genuine opinion? Because otherwise even if he means it he can just claim he was being ironically deflective and face no consequences.
If this turns out to be a hardcore Trump supporter, American politics are going to be in for one hell of a ride.
Doubt it. Haven't the last few shooters been hardcore Trump supporters?
What brought this to absolute horror for me was seeing that reporter's twitter feed. The sudden transition from normal posts to...
I work nearby on Carroll street, only 3 miles of a difference, months ago a training class was prepared online for some of our team this week, otherwise I would be in town today. Kind of crazy to consider. I'm hoping for the best for everyone involved.
I don't think they were, most have been school shootings with some mental health and bullying backgrounds, and never was a newspaper involved. This is more akin to the Charlie Hebdo shooting in early 2015. If this does turn out to be a Trump supporter, and his motivation was to get rid of "Fake News", then that would be direct proof that Trump's rhetoric is causing actual terrorist attacks on the free press in America.
just parkland
Just because we don't arrest people for having the speaking the wrong political beliefs doesn't mean there's no limits. The limits are credible threats, fighting words, inciting riots, or anything that threatens the peace. Nazis can hold rallies where they rant about jews and immigrants, but they stop short of calling for action because that would be illegal.
Nyet. Most mass shooters tend to be independents/non-voters/democrats. The right tends to stick to explosives and the occasional "fuck you ATF" type thing.
don't forget about taking government buildings hostage
Hey, at least someone sent them a 55 gallon drum of lube. I'm sure the local authorities found some way to use that.
fucking hell /pol/

5 dead.
My biggest hope is that during my lifetime Milo wilk be put in fucking solitary for the rest of his life.
Nothing happened after Charlottesville. The breaking point should have been there and the White House's low-key support for neo-Nazis.
