Ohio bill would require teachers to report children who may be t..
OHIO — A GOP bill introduced to the Ohio House would require teachers to report to parents and guardians if a child shows signs that they may be transgender.
The legislation would also make it a fourth-degree entity for teachers and government agents to provide treatment without consent from parents and guardians.
The Ohio Education Association opposes the legislation, saying in a statement: “[HB 658] is contrary to OEA’s belief that all persons, regardless of gender orientation, should be afforded equal opportunity and guaranteed a safe and inclusive environment within the public education system.”
The bill would also keep courts from making custody-related decisions based on a parent’s or guardian’s refusal to let a child undergo gender-based treatment.
The legislation was introduced by Rep. Tom Brinkman in May. In testimony, he said “parents have a fundamental right to decide what is best for their children.”
Posted the entire article because its short. Pretty fucking disgusting though.
oh fuck off
Well, after baby jails and baby courts, gotta make sure you have some volunteers for baby shock-therapy!
I wonder how many psychiatrists and psychologists they actually consulted for this
Actually lmao the other source literally states the the bill wants parents to determine what's in the kids best interest in regards to the diagnosis itself. So yeah, the answer to that is likely in the vicinity of 0.
but we gotta think of the family! Except for kids. Children are just slaves to do our dirty work.
Well now that's a damn good idea, telling the parents of a child that's already probably/possibly confused out of their minds will end well.
He should probably either watch the Chris Chan documentary, or read the wiki
Best part is that parents do not/shouldn't have the "fundamental right to decide what is best for their children"
If a parent decides that not seeking medical attention and instead praying or not taking vaccines is the best thing for their child, that should be malicious negligence and grounds for taking a child away from their parents.
It's obvious this bill is just to scare kids deeper into the closet. For a lot of trans people their parents finding out could completely ruin their lives.
"We encourage parents to make their own choices regarding their property children, including how their children feel about anything. If that means they feel their child should be sent to a 're-education camp' to be tortured and physically abused, oh well, that's their right. Some children will be disowned or mistreated as a result of this but parent's rights."
Would the hyppocratic oath and patient-doctor confidentiality make this law moot?
That does not apply to teachers.
Teachers aren't doctors
Third world country. Say it with me.
I would seriously not mind the splitting of the union. Let all the southern states fuck off and form their own country, let the rest of America remain. Watch them collapse within months.
I don't want the people here's lives get even worse even if its what they think they want.
I'm a little more callous than that. People only learn from history and experience. And since education is evidently so bad there that people have forgotten the mistakes of their past, maybe they should be allowed to repeat them to force them to come to their senses.
it would take a serious stretch of the imagination to consider ohio part of the southern US, dude
What a retarded idea.
not to mention, people are already voicing oppisition to the bill.
Pretty proud of my area of Ohio.
It also massively sabotages the ability of professionals to do their job.
It's already often difficult for doctors to get youth to talk about stuff like sexual health even when they're told that whatever they say is confidential.
So basically bring back the confederate states of america and let the good people suffer even more?
How ironic.
If you actually have enough power to split the US apart, you may as well use it to change the political system in the first place. Daily reminder that Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million, how prevalent gerrymandering are, etc.. The US would probably be much nicer and more sane politically were those systems redone.
Bill needs a better, more accurate name I think.
May I suggest the "Force Children To Kill Themselves For No Reason Act"
I think that represents this bill pretty accurately
Where's the parental choice in how they do it?
This bill is murder.
Parental Assisted Suicide Act?
