This could either be terrible of great depending on how many cues they take from the ads for halo 3 and ODST.

What are you talking about the obviously plastic armour with suction cup feet was the best! What do you not think that taking the suit from the anime was a good idea instead of designing it to look like one from the games or books?
That's the weird part. Chief uses armour from Legends, but both Fred and Kelly use Mark IV[B] armour that debuted in Cole Protocol.
With any luck, Halo 5's plot being a disaster resulted in a new focus for the show so that it won't turn out like shit. Even though I doubt that, it can't be any worse than Nightfall was.

What was that really terrible Halo movie again? I watched it on the television a few years back while I was in the middle of an awful fever- all I remember was it seemed like 90% of the run time consisted of *bad cgi plasma effects in the dark*- *reaction shot of boring protagonists* - *repeat*
