He was merciless in his educated opinions, and he always did his homework before he ripped your face off.

He was one of the principle reasons B5 had the pedigree it did.

Just yesterday I googled him to see if there was any news with him and now this. In spite of his volatile personality, this man was a huge inspiration to me when I first discovered him in high school and I have occasionally returned to his stories and essays throughout the years. Beneath the animosity, Harlan Ellison was a man who cared deeply about others. Rest in peace.
