I'm not sure about that yet. It's really chill, and has a lot of cool stuff going for it, but I just can't see myself playing any of the songs on repeat for an hour straight like demon days or plastic beach.
But it's a Gorillaz album, so I may get there with a few more listens.
Does it have to be now? Can't I listen to it later?
Tranz, Humility, Hollywood, Fire Flies and Sorcererz are all A+.
Idaho's growing on me too.
Is Hollywood unplayable for any one else?
It says it is but plays anyway for me
overall a pretty nice and chill synthpop-ish album, i like it. none of the tracks are mind blowing, but none of them are outright bad either. definitely much nicer than humanz, and i can see myself actually coming back to this one again in the future, unlike humanz.
TBH while the songs are okay, some are even really good, it just kind of feels uninspired compared to Humanz, as flawed as it was it really was a unique sound.
I'd say this is better than Humanz because the lows from that album were LOW, while the worst tracks on this album just feel kind of samey, but I wish there was a little more of that Gorillaz oomph and weirdness.
Still waiting for another mindblowing album like Plastic Beach.
I'm really glad I got the vinyl, the art is wonderful!

Gorillaz vinyl's really are amazing. I haven't had as much joy opening something since I was a child when I got the Plastic Beach vinyl.
But they're satanists, guys:

Live version seems better in a couple of cases. Tranz is alright studio wise but doesn't nearly have the energy the live one does.
Yeah I really miss the piano from the live version of Souk Eye, still a great track though.
I ordered the deluxe vinyl edition just a moment ago, I can't wait!
Yeah, can't select it either. The only way I've gotten it to play is by viewing it through "released singles" option
for what it’s worth all the other Gorillaz albums are now available on CD and vinyl on their store
Best album
for now...
I'm really disappointed that the studio version of Souk Eye doesn't have the backing choir and piano, I really loved the live version

Even worse that they took down their video of the Boiler Room performance, so now this is the only way to really listen to it
I was expecting Tranz to be the album's banger after seeing the live performance, but the vocals are so flaccid by comparisson...
I think Magic City's currently my favorite.
Its better than most of their recent stuff, but still didnt top PB or DD sadly
Yeah, it's a totally different octave.
I like it, but I really loved the live version.
Yeah. Not nearly as much energy as the live version which suuuuuucks. I'll redact my earlier statement about it being terrible but it's still not nearly as good as the live one.
Jokes on them I quickly threw it on cassette cuz I knew it'd die after they hammered down all the live version vids that popped up.
