PCGamer: BioWare dev opens up about Mass Effect: Andromeda reception

More deflecting blame I see.
This game was a non-starter the moment videos hit YouTube showing the terrible animation quality.
I didn't even get past the beginning, so dull.
No, Andromeda did not get a fair shake. People wrote it off before the game came out and looked almost exclusively at bugs which only happen at the start of the game and declared it the worst thing ever.
That said, if they HAD given it a fair shake the game would have gotten a much more critical response. As it stands it mostly got ridiculed for ugly characters and bugs which were easily fixed. If people had played it they would have instead torn apart the generic characters, the ridiculous story contrivances, the bad guys who seem designed to be as boring as possible, and the many, many problems with the gameplay once you get past the awe of using the jet pack and dash mechanics.
Bioware are butthurt about their game being a laughing stock when they should be glad it wasn't placed under a critical lens, because no one would even consider Anthem if it was.
And this is coming from someone who fucking likes the game.

(Ignore the last third of the video, it's just bizarre fanfiction wank)
