My sound card driver keeps updating and installing some stupid poorly translated software that comes with it, it's much easier just to set up things manually with windows control panel but for some reason windows 10 keeps reinstalling newer, non-stock drivers and also installs the software that comes with it. I tried various online fixes and disabling automatic installation in the devices and printers tab but it keeps happening every time I restart. Any ideas how to fix this?
Find out where it tries to install that software and restrict Windows from accessing it, had to do it once myself because my laptop kept downloading a broken realtek audio driver.
Then if Windows Update keeps complaining use this tool: http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/2/f22d5fdb-59cd-4275-8c95-1be17bf70b21/wushowhide.diagcab
I think that worked! I just removed permissions from everyone on the C:\Conexant folder and windows didn't seem to bother with it anymore. Thanks!
