I can't seem to be able to set my url to anything that accesses github servers without it showing a grey screen/ not loading the picture. Is this a problem for everyone or just me?
I'm sure GitHub doesn't want you using their site to host your loading screen.
To make a gmod server loading screen you usually use your own server..
@code_gs All github does is host an html file through their github pages feature, allowing us to create custom loading screens without having to setup IIS or the works. I've used it in the past but can't seem to be able to get it to work now and I was wondering if it was just my gmod or if everyone is having this issue. Also, since the loading site is a full fledged browser instead of just an Iframe, there's nothing they (github) can do to block it.
First of all, yes, there is something they can do to block GMod specifically, by blocking the UA string, but I don't see why they'd ever do that.
And no, GMod itself doesn't disallow any webpages.
The problem most likely lies in the HTML file itself, as the loading screen isnt exactly most modern and doesn't support a lot of things.
Hosting from an io/project page is different than hosting directly from a repository.
