So let's sum it up here:
X's grim reaper oc is named Gekyume, which is a word he made up comprised of the Japanese words geki (intense/violent) and yume (dream), and he speaks in subs
He rambles on with pretentious existential musings intercut with ridiculous fight scenes
He literally gains an op anime superpower
X was massive weeb confirmed
really a fantastic video though, message wise. Directly addresses the fact that there were many troubles in his past but there was a real genuine drive to be a light in the industry, a light that was cut short way too soon. Got me in my feels for sure.
I can't believe people really eat up this overproduced pseudo-intellectual bullshit. If someone told me this was a satire vid I would believe it lol, a "genuine drive to be a light in the industry". The dude beat the shit out of a bunch of people for no reason (including his preggers gf) and made corny as fuck Jaden Smith tier trap. Can we please raise our standards a bit here
You literally are repeating headlines that you barely even know about, literally you're just spewing the random tidbits of info youve accrued and never genuinely researched about this kid.
I'm not going to sit here and try to make his case in front of you because you're clearly not even tangentially involved in the industry which means that his message literally has nothing to do with you, but I will say that you need to sit down and actually look some things up, because the preggers gf shit was an absolute fabrication of the real story thats honestly more of a tragic situation for the both of them than anything.
The fact you even brought that up the way you did shows you are literally irrelevant to the conversation currently purely because you've put 0 time into actually learning about the situation.
Lol you post about videogames and Dungeons & Dragons on the internet and you're gonna call me a nerd who doesn't understand Florida gang life? Ok bud. If this:

Is "the culture" then yeah, I guess I don't understand it
Stop calling him X. There's only one X and he's gon give it to ya
i know fans tends to be gullible but jesus...
Dog I don't know what to tell you, I'm not saying I'm not a nerd I'm saying I've been involved with music for a grip and Ive linked with cousin stizz and niggas who are really about it and when you're exposed to that world you start to really get an idea of how this shit goes. X was young and gang affiliated, no one will ever genuinely say what he's done was right but you gotta get the circumstances. Beating motherfuckers up and making it known is how you survive in that world, ESPECIALLY in Florida. The whole reason people fuck with him is that within the last year or two he's shifted perspective thanks to his life and the people around him. Listen to Curry talk about X. Listen to Skimask talk about him, anyone. They'll all say exactly what I'm getting at, and those dudes lived and breathed that real gang life with him.
I'm sorry I got heated about it but if you don't get the rap culture as it stands right now you couldn't possibly get why X's message isn't just 'pseudo intellectual bullshit'.
This is the funniest reply I've ever gotten on Facepunch lmao. Bet
I don't even fuck with X as hard as most people do, but at it's core a really young guy who grew up troubled more than most of us could ever believe wanted to change from being the old violent gang affiliated person he was and ended up getting killed in a random robbery before he could really make waves. That's fucking horrible.
I mean people fuck with Vince Staples hard and the only line between X and him is that Vince has had a long time since he was a murderer, y'know? People can only change if they're given the time to do so, and the whole industry is filled with people who've done way worse than X and came out to be some of the greatest forces for social change in the modern day.
Just because they grew up in a terrible environment doesn't give them an excuse to be assholes.
Its understandable of why he's like that, but that also means he shouldn't have an excuse to attack and abuse people.
"Dog"
lmao doesn't even spell it dawg
Dog, I don't know what to tell you. I'm not saying I'm not a nerd I'm saying I've been involved with the Third Reich for a grip and I've linked with Goerring and niggas who are really about it and when you're exposed to that world you start to really get an idea of how this shit goes. Hitler was young and gang affiliated, no one will ever genuinely say what he's done was right but you gotta get the circumstances. Gassing Jews and slaughtering handicapped people is how you survive in that world, ESPECIALLY in one where jews cause all the problems. The whole reason people fuck with Hitler is that in 1945 he shifted perspective thanks to his life and the people around him and decided to eat a cyanide capsule. Listen to Eva talk about Hitler. Listen to Rommel talk about him, anyone. They'll all say exactly what I'm getting at, and those dudes lived and breathed the real SS life with him.
I'm sorry I got heated about it but if you don't get the nazi culture as it stands right now you couldn't possibly get why Hitler's message isn't just 'pseudo intellectual bullshit'.
I'm not saying its an excuse, I even said that. The point is that people change and X was younger than most of us. If we all got judged on who we were 3 years ago we'd be PISSED. I don't like seeing people dismiss honest to god potential for change just because of past actions because every big rapper has a fucked up wrap sheet. Y'all can box me to oblivion or talk shit about the way I'm explaining this but we're talking about real people here, and we all know people have the capacity to be awful and great.
Again, I don't fuck with the things that are verifiably true that he did, but that doesn't give people a pass to spread misinformation about the kid and smear the good he's genuinely done for the scene as a whole.
I can't blame anyone for not knowing what's true or not and I'm trying to make a point of apologizing for being heated about it, but I've had this talk a lot lately and it's frustrating talking to certain people who are Stonewall about their opinions without even having a clear image of the reality of it.
It applies perfectly. You're using someone's upbringing and socioeconomic status as a defense for being a generally shitty person. A shitty upbringing does not give someone the right to be a fucking dickhead with no regard for human life. It doesn't exonerate someone from all wrongdoing and wash them of any sins they've committed. You're accusing everybody here who's making counterpoints against your support for X that they "don't know the full story" and go on to cite that "growing up in south florida is HARD, you just don't GET what it's like to live that kinda life." It doesn't matter what kind of life they had. Everybody has a choice, and this may come as a shocker, but I would think it's pretty common sense that killing people and causing serious harm to others is something that seems wrong.
There is nothing on this earth that absolves someone from being an absolute fuckhead.
My "quick little Godwin's law" is to point out the farce in your entire argument, because your argument is absolutely insane.
xxx had as much emotional depth as a 15 year old on 2005 myspace
Not saying this with any malicious intent but Jesus that video is boring as fuck.
Why did everyone suddenly give a shit about this B tier rapper? I hadn't even heard of him until he died.
Because he died. Literally only because of that.
you would fold in half
people like you actually exist? I thought it was just a meme
XXXtentacion was the worlds most prominent white nationalist
I'm pretty sure the guy is just empathizing and y'all are jumping down his throat because it's a meme.
Thats really depressing but then again apparently he was a huge asshole or something. I'm curious to know what hes done
It's cause he is putting of a psudeo-intullectual image while still coming of as "tough" and edgy which attracts a bunch of teens. It's the same reason why teens 15 years ago loved shit like Slipknot.
people have always cared about xxx to an extent. he was always controversial and was also one of the main figureheads of the soundcloud rap scene. without him, the soundcloud rap scene wouldn't have become anywhere near as huge as it is today.
when it comes to his musical output, some people think it's deep and insightful, and other people think it's shallow and disgusting. hell he even had rappers like kendrick lamar and kanye west repping him.
some people resonate with his message, others don't. that's how it's always been when it comes to artists like xxx. personally i dislike his musical output, but i cannot deny how important he was for the scene he represented
everyone has always sorta given a shit about him, it's just now that he's dead people have a reason to talk about him again.
I see people throwing around the fact that his girlfriend lied about being pregnant all the time without actually providing sources. And I would hardly calling beating a gay man to near death and gloating about it, being filmed beating a woman and taking a picture of you holding a person you violently assualted and using it as an album cover "scoolyard fights", that's just straight up sociopathic behavior.
Hurt was written by Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails and is about his struggle with heroin addiction, which got so sever that it caused the followup album to the Downward Spiral to take five years to complete. Addiction in general is pretty relatable to people and Hurt doesn't really have any pretensions at all to be more than it is, a song about how addiction will keep hurting you and cause you to loathe yourself and those around you.
jesus christ people really have lost touch with reality lately huh
you are George Soros favorite type of person
