I've always ran the command -window-mode exclusive and it has worked miracles for my Rust experience. With significant frame boosts and smoother game play overall, it was necessary.
The recent Unity upgrade seems to have messed things up. It makes you crash every time you switch to another window and there's constant stuttering making the game unbearable.
I beg. Please fix this by next update!

I play on a 24" Asus monitor and have always played in "windowed" mode (checked box in config/start menu) and
have no problems having Rust io map and several other windows open at the same time.
Could it be a Ram or hardware problem ?

He talks about true fullscreen. It gives a sifnificant fps boost and better response time compared to windowed on Windows 8.1/10. Problem is you can't disable Desktop Window Manager which means you have double buffering (v-sync analog) enabled all the time. It hurts peformance a lot on low/mid tier PC. It isn't a problem on Windows 7 as you can disable Aero theme or just use a classic one like you do.
Do you use alt+enter to switch Rust to windowed or just alt+tab to another program? Alt+enter was a solution for me when i was forces to use Win10.
No. I was never aware of alt + enter, thanks for that. I still don't see why they can't simply include a little button that says Fullscreen. Also it's gunna be hard for me to adjust to alt + enter, I'm always use to alt + tab by instinct.
