Iran isn't allied with Russia. They're both supporting Assad in Syria but there's currently no guarantee that Russia would protect Iran like they protected Assad if Trump really did send troops there. Not that Iran would be in immediate danger were such a situation to arise anyway; Iran would be much, much harder to invade than Iraq and time is running out.
