• Twitter (and facebook?) embeds completely blank

Most notably on the LMAO Pics thread, none of the twitter embeds seem to work. I usually just see a totally blank post, but in some cases there's the sad little red guy. If it makes a difference, I'm on firefox. I'm sure you can imagine what an empty post looks like, but here's a screenshot anyway. All three posts in this screenshot contain twitter embeds. The top and bottom posts are totally blank, while the middle shows the aforementioned sad little red guy. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132468/e4214621-54dd-489f-b928-05cbb06f0302/speg.png In case it helps somehow, the code view from the middle post looks like this: { "ops": [ { "insert": { "hotlink": { "url": "https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dg-gPViX4AA68id.jpg", "force": "undefined", "settings": "{\"w\":640,\"h\":529}", "thumb": false } } }, { "insert": "\n" } ] }
Works on my machine. Sure it's not some adblocker causing it? Maybe load it in another browser and see if it happens there also.
Ghostery's anti-tracking feature blocks these for me. So if you have some kind of anti-tracking plugin it may be it which blocks it.
Bingo, it was Firefox's tracking protection. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132468/66b5b4e5-ea58-4296-b8c7-35c49df70c57/sp2p.png This was set to "Always." The embeds work now! Cheers! Have some diamonds.
I would recommend setting facepunch as an exception instead of disabling it tbh. Facepunch is pretty much the only place where disabling them gets in the way.
Maybe @garry could add a little message like "This content is blocked by your browser" to make this more clear?
Firefox does not allow adding tracking protection exemptions manually, the site you want to add has to have a tracking element on it to do that (rather than something from an external source that's embedded)
