My PC has ran fine up until this morning. I turned it on and I have 2 inch black bars on both sides and a 1/4 inch on the top. Task bar is pushed down below the screen.
1920x1080 has been my setting on the screen forever. Nvidia Control Panel shows it can only go to 1600x1200.
Dxdiag shows it reads my GPU(GTX 660)
Even in safe mode, I have a 1/2 inch bar to the side. On boot up my windows logo is shoved to the ceiling of my TV.
Doing a clean install now on my drivers. Not sure if this will work but I would like to get this out there and have some insight at possibly fixing this.
Does your TV have a menu setting to reset to factory defaults? Might happen if overscan is set weirdly in Nvidia settings (sometimes set to less than 100% size for some reason) and the TV tries to compensate.
I did that and it did nothing. This was all working fine last night. I have no clue what is going on.
You sure your TV isn't on Zoom or something? Automatic picture mode or whatever it may use to remove black bars?
Funny thing is. I can connect HDMI, set it up to the resolution I need, unconnect hdmi, plug in vga and its fine. Reboot and it goes back to the black bars.
Trying to make sense of what is going on right now.
So I took the GPU out and using on board. It was working fine at 1920x1080.
I shut it off, reboot it and then the screen is crushed again. BUT when I set it to 1920x1200, it works perfectly fine.
