So how long until he goes full Gwyn Paltrow and starts recommending bleach enemas?
With the way he talks, I'd say his depression is definitely still around and he's constantly venting his cynicism
Sounds like a really boring diet tbh. I'm getting depressed just thinking of all the delicious foods I'd have to miss out on with such an unhealthy and needlessly restrictive diet.
this dude is such a mess
Just because we can meat as humans, Doesn't means we can't ignoring eating plants or vegetables as opinion due your primate ancestry diet allow eat both them.
It might work well for him and his issues and terribly for others. Having suffered from mental health issues myself, I've found out firsthand how odd dietary quirks can radically affect how my mind functions. It sounds unusual but based on my own experience it isn't unbelievable.
I mean, if it works for him, then by all means, go for it. If he's had autoimmune issues his whole life and his current diet is somehow benefiting him, then good for him. Joe Rogan is probably a pretty good choice to discuss things like diet with. Good to see his daughter is also improving with a different diet as well. He seems fine to me? Definitely better than he's been in past episodes on Joe's show.
the facepunch general consensus is to hate jordan peterson
Won't he get scurvy?
i do enjoy railing against thinly veiled conservatism, borderline fascism, & blatant sexism yea
thank you for your service rusty, you always fight the good fight
Is that really a surprise? We hate every other far right evangelical, what makes this one any different?
Because despite what you may disagree with him about he's not "far right" like you purport him to be. Is he conservative? Sure. Is that enough of a reason to hate someone? Probably not.
A good reason to hate him is that he states complete non-sense that doesn't lead into any points or makes any actual argument. He just makes a bunch of vague statements and then immediately moves onto the next one. Everything he says is complemented by totally inane garbage and obvious logic. not only that but he's the most post-modernist person out there, while still constantly buzz-wording against 'post modernism' all the time. The more I listen to him the less I actually understand, it just sounds more and more like insane dribble.
How to get rid of your depression and develop some serious gastro issues
you're right, hes whatever you want him to be. because he has his golden rule "I didn't say that" whenever someone tries to pin his shit ultra conservative views.
Peterson isn't the guy who created this diet, Shawn Baker is widely credited as being one of the earliest adopters/developers of it as a serious diet. You guys can hit the low hanging fruit all you want, but god forbid you actually look at some of the substance behind aspects of the story before you go full throttle into the hate boner.
I don't even buy that "I didn't say that" thing he does, I'm just saying whatever perceived ultra conservative views you think he has are probably just standard and you're pinning him to be something he's not so you can hate him easier. Name one "ultra conservative" view he has. Better yet, define "ultra conservative" while you're at it. Any reasonable person who examines the things he says can come out of it as "okay, this guy has some conservative views but he mostly operates in the realm of self-help, and it seems he's been having success in that regard" and that's it. By the way, I'm not even that big of a fan. I probably disagree with about 80% with what he says (mostly the religious stuff), but I think it speaks more about his character when he's able to befriend progressives like Joe Rogan and Brett Weinstein, and I'm not going to let whatever I think about his views on religion be the be all end all to who he is as an individual.
Is this youtube where the comments suck
"Pornography is very dangerous" "atheism causes mental disease" "Atheists were never oppressed, but maybe they should be" "Sex-education is a form of indoctrination pushed on children by radical leftists" "The idea that women were oppressed in history is an appalling theory" "Women need to have children... women who don't have children are 'isolated miserable creatures'" "Abortion is clearly wrong" "[if a women wears makeup and doesn't want to be sexually harassed, is she hypocritical?] yeah" "The film Frozen is reprehensible propaganda" "[You can quit smoking without any sort of divine intervention] no you can't" Waiting for the inevitable "I didn't say that" "it was out of context" "you didn't drink enough kool aid to understand" responses to all of these quotes.
I wouldn't really consider Joe Rogan a progressive. It's hard to exactly pin down his politics because he generally goes along with whoever he happens to be talking to at the time. Which, coincidently, is why Jordan Peterson can "befriend" him. He has had ringing endorsements for both Ron Paul and Gary Johnson of the Libertarian party though, and I'd definitely peg him as more Libertarian; fiscally conservative but socially liberal.
If you could provide sources to every single one of those, that'd be great. I'm not saying I disagree with those examples, I'd just like to know where you got them from.
Jesus, y'all manage to find an excuse to shit on him even when he tells about a journey in feeling more healthy. His daughter was close to death, and she gave him advice that helped her avoid prolonging her various medical issues. If it works, then it works for him. I see the same people trying to go on a schpeel on how they hate him and he's a prick. You're sounding like those stereotypical baby boomer grandpas watching Fox News and ranting at their TV's.
Can we talk about the fucking diet some more? Why does every thread have to be a battlefield for his politics jesus christ? @Slab Bulkhead 🤣 can you rename this thread to "Man eats beef and drinks water. Somehow cures his depression and helps treat his daughter's arthritis"
Yeah but the problem is no one posts his self-help shit. I've listened to a lot of his self-help stuff and have applied it to real world situations where it seemed to have worked out for myself but that's not the Jordan Peterson FP is exposed to. The only shit that gets posted is his unhinged rants about "post-modern Neomarxism" or roundtable discussions with three people who generally agree with everything he has to say.
Yeah, I agree his views has certainly stained his self-help stuff. As far as where the fault is divided, I'm not sure. It's either on him for being a super vague dude or on people who justifiably criticize his views having their viewpoint shroud everything else, or by those who maliciously misrepresent what he's said (because that has certainly happened, it happens to everyone who speaks in the public sphere regardless of what their views are). It's probably a mix of all of that.
Someone implied that FP hates Jordan Peterson without reason and people responded to him, get over it. You are never going to post a thread a public speaker like Peterson and not have people criticize him. I'm glad this diet works for him, low-carb diets are almost universal recognized as beneficial to health. Personally I'd be worried about eating too much red meat but if it works for him and his daughter then more power to him. Is this better? Does this make you feel more comfortable? He has expressed so many controversial views that it would be hard for me to pin the blame on malicious misrepresentation, which I'm sure has happened. It's more that it just doesn't get used to represent him. Websites like Facepunch and Reddit rely on people posting content and people don't generally
Because telling his followers who eat his bullshit up that just eating beef and drinking water is dangerous when hes not even an nutritionist. But then again he wants to act like he knows every single subject in the entire world.
Maybe now is a good time to watch the video if you want to discuss it. But really don't bother- this thread has already been derailed.
