I was banned once upon a time for using a recoil script because I was a dumbass and thought it would be worth the risk to try and cheat. I never cheated on live servers, only on a training server and was swiftly banned the next day before I could try them for real.
I now know that it isn't worth it at all, not only because I lost my expensive inventory but because I truly enjoy this game and my past record has now made it almost impossible to do so.
I join modded servers to play with friends and it works for a day or two, but later I get server banned for being on an alt account to my previous one banned.
I have no intention of scripting or using any kind of cheats anymore but I don't know how to solve this issue. I have repurchased the game already and have no game ban on my new account.
I just want to start fresh and enjoy Rust like I used to, again I have no intention of cheating. I love this game and put a lot of time and money into it and just want to play it without worry of a ban again.

As of a while ago Rust bans by HWID. This was done because of an endless cycle of people using hacks, getting banned, buying again on new account, repeat. You would need to build a new computer to be able to legitimately play again without being insta banned.
Other than that no one here can help you. If you want to plea your case you have to contact EAC. As stated in the section rules located next to the new thread button.

I am not getting game banned.
However, I have contacted EAC support and told them my case. I doubt anything will come of it but fingers crossed. Will update here if something notable happens.

You realize that posting here with an apology is a complete waste of time? You cheated, you had intent to cheat on live servers and be essentially a dick to legit players, and then you try to circumvent the ban.
No sympathy here. I'm not being a dick, but rather giving you the hard truth how many other legit players feel about cheaters, including myself.

he was specifically talking about "building a new computer", which I was refering to. You don't have to 'build an entire computer' to get around a hardware ban, just spoof it.
I don't know what they do with cheating bans nor do i really care, because I wasn't saying what they did or did not do. I'm assuming you meant to reply to Steak.
But you are right that using a VPN or rebooting can get around a server ban.
