PCGamer: Twitch hands 30-day bans to two popular streamers for using homophobic slurs

M0e actually defended his use of the slur in the video linked in the tweet above (deleted but preserved by Google Cache), describing it as one of his "favorite words of all time" and feigning surprise that people consider it offensive ("It has a lot of meanings") before launching into a breathtakingly clueless crescendo: "I use the word 'faggot' to call people 'retards'," he says in the clip.
true genius
I'm more curious about Destiny; is this the same Destiny famed for political debates? I would've expected better from him given his reputation.
All for saying "faggot" in a non homophobic context?

What a bunch of uppity faggots for banning them like this. I can tell they're really concerned about keeping their community's integrity when you have half naked girls literally dancing for cash.
as a faggot who uses the word faggot excessively who fuckin cares if u dont like it dont watch thats how they get paid
In regards to MoE, he kinda deserved it, but Destiny's ban is kinda dumb in my opinion. It's a supposed combined ban with making a cuban shooting remark in the context of comparison with his mother’s stances and saying faggot while tilted on League.
this is just more garbage coming out of twitch to make it look like they care about keeping their platform tidy when theres still the whole issue of admins favouring streamers they watch (who may or may not coincidentally happen to be degenerate titty streamers sometimes)
I'm really happy Destiny got the axe. Should've been permanent tbh.
Good for you. A majority of gay people still don't like hearing it.
Destiny is a terrible person who makes himself look better by taking other terrible people and putting a spotlight on them.
is there actually anything wrong with titty streamers?
please explain
1d ban btw

🤨❓
i dont think a ban is necessary but i can totally get down with a warning and then proceeding to making them losing their monetization rights if they do it again. theres a difference between disassociating yourself and then there's straight up censoring people
they break the rules frequently and many have admitted to evading bans because they have the mods in their pockets as frequent viewers/mods of their own channel.
dont care about titty streamers but the double standards of rules and presenting urself as a service who takes itself seriously when u clearly dont is the real issue
What a bunch of gay niggerfaggots
move them goalposts
where to, fighting against the use of the world faggot regardless of context?
How does Twitch catch situations like these? I'd assume there are enough reports to warrant their attention.
Female streamer said "nigger" and got a one day ban. Twitch has major issues and is a sexist organization
