I find it interesting that the video was deliberately edited as an acid trip mindfuck while simultaneously being informative about something that appears to be rather fundamental.
I wonder if doing it in 3D is an even bigger pain in the ass than drawing it.
It's also the most infuriating thing to get right in 3d. Either it looks like you walk like a stick, or your legs have their own gravity.
I remember fucking around with Pivot as a kid, and just how much of a joy it was to get something that even vaguely resembled walking down for the first time, even if it looked pretty shitty. Dabbling with that sort of thing gave me a lot of respect for real animators and just how much trouble it must be to get everything looking right in motion.
I think Pivot was my first exposure to animating. Ofcourse the first thing I made was a remake of a Matrix scene.
